I've heard Walker's name mentioned as one of the top players in TN, but this is the first time I've heard him mentioned among kids ND had interest in. Could this mean we aren't is good of standing with Donald?

I would not read that much into it... IMO it is actually that a player that was not that interested in ND is now getting interested. It is an unofficial so it does not cost ND anything. TN is becoming fertile grounds for ND.

Walker has been on the board since last Spring...the only problem is that is scores aren't high enough. Minter visited over the summer and, despite what the boards say about interest level, it is Alabama, LSU, & Notre Dame for Walker. If Walker gets his scores up, he is NDs to lose, it seems. He is a beast in the mold of Donald, and from the way the season is going, he might even be a better tight end than MLB. We will see, though.

I don't think we need another tight end, and hopefully we get Donald so we won't NEED to find out how good of a MLB he can be. However, if we could add Walker along with our other LBs that we may get it can only improve our defense. Walker has good speed like Donald, but was recently dropped from the Rivals 250

Trinton Sturdivant (6-foot-5, 285 pounds) is still committed to the University of Georgia, but Notre Dame intrigued him. It intrigued him so much that he decided to take an official visit to Notre Dame this past weekend.

“I’m interested in Notre Dame because of the academics and the athletics,” Sturdivant replied when asked about his interest in Notre Dame. “I’ve been hearing so much about Notre Dame so I really wanted to see what Notre Dame was about.

“I talked to Jimmy [Clausen], Gary Gray and Greg Little. They’re great people as well as great players. I hope they succeed wherever they go. Chris Stewart was my host. I also got to hang out with the freshmen. I hung out with James Aldridge and George West, I really liked them, they’re really down to earth people.”

Sturdivant liked the recruits and the players quite a bit, but it was the Notre Dame student body that made the lasting impression.

“Man they were wild,” Sturdivant said of the Irish fans. “They were the best group of fans I’ve ever seen in my life. I haven’t seen many but that was phenomenal. I really love those fans. That’s the one thing that stood out more than anything.”

The Irish coaching staff also made a strong impression on Sturdivant.

“I really like coach Latina,” Trinton said of the Notre Dame offensive line coach. “I talked to a couple different players about him. Chris Stewart said coach Latina was very outgoing and a good coach. That was a big plus.

“I really, really like the weight lifting coach, coach Mendoza. He has a lot of the same philosophies as my high school coach and I think my high school coach is doing a very, very good job in preparing me.

“Coach Weis impressed me,” he said. “He told me that he tries to do what is best for his players. After the loss, he was going to take the blame before he blamed it on his players., so that was a plus.

“I really liked coach Lewis as well. He recruited my brother when he was at east Carolina. I think I talked to him longer than any other coach other than coach Weis. He’s a friendly outgoing type of coach. I like him.

Sounds like he could have a change of heart.Hopefully we will find out what happens soon with him.

Thats exactly what I was thinking Gwood. He couldnt make the trip last week because of back spasms, so he came this week and was very impressed. He may even see how Gray, and both Littles are all from the Carolinas, and like that CW is recruiting that area heavy. I think he may de-commit, and end up being Irish.

longshot at best.

What makes you say that? Most of the guys on this board usually agree that a good gameday experience at ND, could definitely change a recruits mind. You never kno, and with CW at the helm, I like to look on the bright side of things.

JFS i hate to break this to you buddy but this is not a long shot at at all

we are in on this kid, seriously watch out for this one, he had a good trip and the staff feels like they have gotten into this race despite his "committment" if you want to call it that.

he is pretty open still and we are on him hard

just saying that georgia is a tough program to pull a kid from its clutches. Im impressed with your confidence in this td. you must have one hell of a hunch, or know something we dont. (which is usually the case). I just know that unless a mother is involved, these southern boys are steadfast in their roots. dont mean to sound overly pessimistic, but the chances of us having TWO boys decommit from the south, is imo, a longshot at best.

idk it looks like chris perry is isnterested in us too even though hes commited the U

idk but keep callin them haha

Exactly TD Perry and his coach wouldn't of wasted there time in feeling out paper work and sending ND film if he wasn't interested.
