OklahomaIrish
Gosh I love this kid. You can go way back to when he was committed to Purdue and I had a thread on him. I just read a story on Blue and Gold Illustrated about how he has come back from his devastating injury. Kelly said he could play right now but they want to be cautious with him during the spring. Basically said he was 'a nut' in his rehab. This is just why I thought he was going to be special. His work outs with Jalen Smith pryor to coming to Notre Dame told it all. Prognosis?? Here is a kid that started 3 games as a true freshman and played in 11 games with over 30 tackles. He participated in a couple of turnovers and had some huge hits, arriving with great speed and a sense of urgency. I am very excited about his chances in 2015 to get substantial playing time. Not sure if he will remain at safety or move closer to the line, all I am sure of is he will not be outworked and he is physically superior to most players simply because of his work ethic. Again, 2015 is looking better than any year since Lou Holtz. Certainly better than 2012 in my opinion. I love that these guys are getting healthy. I can't wait to see Quenton Nelson. I don't know of another Notre Dame lineman with the potential of domination like this kid shows. Certainly not in the Kelly era. GO IRISH Hate to rain on your parade but the combination of Tranquill and Collingsworth was a nightmare to watch against Northwestern and something I'm glad I didn't have to watch twice. Granted Tranquill wasn't as bad it was clear he was not ready to play. I expect to see Shumate and Redfield in every game this season barring injury. I still think Tranquill is better suited to play backer with his size and speed. If not I think he'd be a great strong safety or play that rover role. KamaraPolice
Another Oklahoma "I said this guy was awesome before he was in middle school" thread...awesome... Actually, rocket, oklahoma saw his dad playing at the park in the early 90s and said if that guys kids are just a few inches taller . . . Yes, he was overwhelmed at times, but he also made some big plays and is a sure tackler. Maybe not quite the next zibby, but the same type of enthusiasm to knock the p*ss out of people. He could be a backer if he gains some weight, but he has legit 4.4-4.5 speed. I think he can play both safety positions though. He could be an elite linebacker though with his speed. coltssb
This past Christmas I sat next to a St. Mary's girl and we started talking ND football. She mentioned(I didn't bring him up) Tranquill. Said, how do I say it, is very confident in himself. Maybe a scorned girlfriend? I don't know. Did say Golson is extremely nice, however. FaithInIrish Forever
We all have something important to share. Okie: Good Call on Drue. Don't go ANYWHERE OR CHANGE ANYTHING. Love you man! Rocket: We all love you. Your heart is lengendary to me. If you forget look at my avatar. I guess "edge" is important and you have it. But I won't remember your edge. I WILL REMEMBER YOUR HEART:) Edited March 20, 2015 by FaithInIrishForever

Domer Dude
Okie does go overboard with the shotgun effect at prediciting recruits. Some hit and some don't. He was actually down on Drue's size at first http://www.domerdomain.com/forum/showthread.php?t=46255&highlight=drue Okie doesn't have any more info than the rest of us. The best way to predict early time is simply size and conditioning. Keep it up okie but don't get ruffled if we give $hit about it. FWIW i predicted KR to cb way before anyone else - but you didn't here about it 30 times afterwards... Hopefully drue is 100%
OklahomaIrish
Size and speed play a huge role Domer Dude but my major source is to pull up the high school ututbes. I watched a lot of Corey Robinson and saw him adjusting to the ball unlike a kid that was nearly 6 foot five. My next greatest sources are what his team mates say, not necessarily the coaches. Then I look for the ethics of their work out regiments. Tranquill is in a class with very few of them. Ben Hansbrough made himself an elite talent with his workouts but eventually over did it and burned out. I'm currently into basketball and I can tell you next year you can expect an explosion of production from V J Beachem. Some of you probably already know this, but in the glimpses we see of him he is a solid 3 point shooter but has started taking it to the rim. He is 6' 8'' tall and very athletic. In fact, Grant said he is the most difficult match up for him in practice. Hope you guys are watching the basketball because we are the number one basketball school in both men and women's combined records right now. Both of them won the ACC tournament. Both will advance to the second and third rounds of this Big Dance. The men and women will keep on truckin next year as well. The women don't lose anybody and have three great guards coming in. The men return 5 proven players and have a very good class coming in. So tune in!!!!
