Supposedly we are leading to get his services as a graduate transfer or whatever you want to call it, the same as Riggs last year. We can use any body we can get at Safety at this point but I like how the staff is using this avenue to fill holes in the roster.

Agreed. It's one of the areas where we have a distinct advantage over the many "football u's". If you're not locked into the NFL 4 years in, a shot at a ND graduate degree is pretty compelling.

If they can get key guys like this on a yearly basis it will play huge dividends. Helps soothe the pain of not landing another safety in the 2015 class.

Anybody know if this guy is any good??

I think he is more of a run stuffer that lacks a bit in coverage. I don't think he would have the impact that Riggs had.

Has had some difficulty staying healthy too.

He's good if he's healthy. 2 deep on our team which is what we need.

He's built like a senior who has had 4 years of college conditioning.

We won't be getting run down our throat with someone like him.

Agreed. If healthy, he's in the 2 deep and ST. He knows the college game and will help mentor. He's hitter, hope he's healthy. FWIW, Avery says he is healthy and 100%. Hopes to visit in the next few weeks. Additionally, he has already graduated and is back home training.

I heard he is 100% and is ready to go now. Obviously, staying healthy will be key. Not far fetched he will start against Texas. A nice pattern is developing here though with these type of guys. Gotta laud Kelly's resourcefulness here.

An undergrad from Cal and a grad from ND. He won't have any issues finding a job if the NFL doesn't come calling..

I'm starting to believe more and more that Bilal might get a crack at safety. There are concerns that his build might not hold much more weight. If he is really in that 200-210 lb. range with 4.5 speed, I don't think it's bizarre to think he might get a crack at FS. Could possibly make the 2-deep. Apparently, he played FS in his state championship game.

Per his twitter -- he's heading to ND.

I have officially committed to the University of Notre Dame! Extremely blessed & excited to be apart of the Notre Dame family! GO IRISH

Awesome...now let's get 2 top safeties next class.

Kelly just sent out the bat signal.

Certainly a possibility but I really like his speed on the edge. He's 210 and probably 215 going into summer conditioning. Let's see what Longo and that training table can do.
