Remember this 8th grade commit to SC? Signed with West Virginia. Wound up as the 26th or so ranked Pro Style passer but thought it interesting to see how it ended for him. Kind of creeped me out when he offered his pledge and reminded me a bit of the Marinovich family.

He still had an USCum schollie...just de-comitted.

Furthermore, what is really nuts is his high school.

Basically, his dad created a school so his son could play football...and only enrolled other football players.

It was a cyber school with kids from all the heck over...some would take "class" in a building...some took classes at home and just showed up for practice.

They created a football factory and I'm pretty sure they even brag about it. they have play an independent schedule casue no state sport association will sanction them. lol

My old high school in Ohio actually played them in 2011 when they were known as Red Lion Christian Academy and based out of Delaware. We won the state title in Ohio in Division III and beat Red Lion 21-16.

Granted, Sills was only a freshman at the time, but I remember wondering what all the hype was about. I mean, he *already* had his USC offer at that time.

They've been doing it for years with hi school basketball. I didn't think they could achieve that with football needing so many players and equipment.

What a lucky kid having a dad like that......man oh man, some people should be sterilized

Schools should never be able to offer 8th graders. Period. Will be interesting to see what this kid does at West Virginia. If he doesn't have a big career, he will always be remembered for the offer at such a young age.

I honestly have no idea why any school would want to offer a kid without seeing him play a down of Varsity football. The only exception would be a kid who was at a position behind a big time player, but tore it up during the off-season camps.
