Don't like this one bit if true. Cooks is a good recruiter especially in TX area. Just curious to know why he'd leave. It better not be money as we should have paid the man. Possibly to go from cornerbacks to entire secondary? Maybe a higher career vector? Will wait and see but it sounds legit.

Good news. Now there is an opening for Quinn if Kelly so chooses.

Ok. I'm not as well versed with Quinn as some here obviously are. What is it with Quinn that not only some here but on other ND sites are so enamored with? Is he that good? And what is he good at? Can some that believe in Quinn help me understand their love that he's being shown on multiple ND sites. Just asking. I don't know too much about him. I do know that he was with BK at Cincy. But man. He seems to be the guy that A Lot of ND fans want. And if Quinn does come on. What make some think that things will be any better? TIA.

I would go with Alford over Cooks.

I won't say definitively that Cooks is a better recruiter then Alford. But Tony is stuck recruiting (being wasted IMO) in Florida which is like trying to convince a shark to move to the desert. Cook on the other hand has gotten us a solid foot hold in Texas and Louisiana which is probably why he is in demand at schools down there.

Sucks that he feels OU is a step up.

And Michigan just hired the head coach of Paramus Catholic High School, a North Jersey powerhouse where Peppers played, to direct recruiting hoping to gain a foothold in this talent rich area

Well, Quinnis about the only OC that Kelly has completely trusted to run an offense, and was with Kelly when he had too notch offenses. That's the love affair for him...the belief that he'd allow Kelly to truly run the program and coordinate the offense.

Now, how he comes into play wih a defensive opening? I don't know. If Booker is so flexible to throw defensively at just a position, and not a coordinator or such, why do we even have him coaching a position? Quinn is an OC, specifically offensive line coach. Unless we see someone move from those spots, I'm not sure how Quinn fits.

There's an interesting story there. Rutgers was hiring him this year as a positional coach and recruiting coordinator, but he was so despised by other NJ coaches due to his recruiting of their players to flip to his private school, that Rutgers had to tank the hiring. I don't think this will truly help Mochigan in the state of NJ, but maybe solely Paramus for the next year or two. The other coaches will make it a point that their kids CANNOT go to Michigan as long as he is there.
