Good luck to him. Hope he had a chance to improve his game with good training.

His dad's connections will at least get him a fair look.

Well dad can make excuses up for his NFL career now. We should all contribute to a list to help him out.

Agreed on all accounts. He will need to have a heckuva combine performance. Phillip Daniels is known throughout the league which can't hurt. NFL draft picks are precious so Davaris better put up serious numbers. A must for any position especially receivers.

I think DD's career at ND can be summed up in 2 words: unrealized potential.

I hope that he can capitalize on any playing opportunities he gets down the road.

Not a big loss, obviously our receivers were not the problem last year. As long as Russell and Ishaq come back I'm happy.

@BrianHamiltonSI: Was told spring '14 suspension, grade changes after fall ’14 inquiry realistically left too much for DaVaris Daniels to do to get eligible.

Personally, I think this sucks. I would have really liked to see what he could do given one year to proves his worth to the team and NFL. Either way, good luck to him.

not surprised. never really thought he'd come back

best of luck to him.

A ton of talent and a ton of unrealized potential at Notre Dame.

Good luck to him in the pros -- I hope he figures it out when he doesn't have to worry about school as well. It'd be nice to have another talented option at receiver in 2015, but the Irish absolutely don't need him.

Good thing it's not really a loss from this years team or it would be crappy news. Best of luck to him. I'll still be rooting for him to realize his potential and dominate the NFL.

Are he and Duval Kumara twins?

It sounds to me like he at least gave a look at the idea of returning and decided it is too hard and he would prefer to take his chances. I remember Julius Jones lost a year to academics but I don't remember if he had to go to JuCo to get his grades back inline or not, either way I think this would have been an option for Daniels.

Good luck to him in whatever the future holds.

Yes JJ went to school, but I believe it was ASU not Juco. He had the benefit of his older brother being with him and working out together too.

I remember Thomas training with him while he was playing with the Cardinals, but I did not remember him playing for ASU. I also don't remember the full details of his situation, I thought he did not pass some classes and was ruled out for grades.

Either way apples and oranges I guess, Davaris be gone.

No, one of them went to class...

I'm not saying this in a Harrison Smith kind of way, but I will be SHOCKED if this kid's name gets called...SHOCKED...

He should have went to another school...

Maybe now he can write a paper on the exact details of why he was among those suspended from the team. Shouldn't be too hard, maybe three or four graphs!

Him and his father were so bitter about the whole thing, that would not surprise me one bit.

He better hope he runs around 4.4 or he might have to try and go the udfa route.

I can't say I'm surprised, good luck to him. Even if he isn't drafted, I'm sure his father will be able to get him a shot somewhere as an undrafted free agent.
