January 18, 201510 yr Scheduled visit or keeping his options open in case academics block him at ND? Or maybe he has read how easy things are in classes and grades at NC?
January 18, 201510 yr Author Scheduled visit or keeping his options open in case academics block him at ND? Or maybe he has read how easy things are in classes and grades at NC? Not exactly sure. He recently said he was all ND and was scheduled to visit UCLA this month but was no longer going to do that since he was busy the weekend of the visit. Pictures started to surface with him on a visit to UNC this weekend.

Pictures started to surface with him on a visit to UNC this weekend. He's all ND but it's more likely he doesn't make it in. Needs to keep some other options open. It's too bad, I'm really high on him.
January 18, 201510 yr Someone should tell him that Deborah Crowder no longer works in the African Studies department, and that whole fake-class thing is no longer an option at UNC.
January 18, 201510 yr Not that I like it but I guess in some ways I get it when he said he's not from an affluent family and recruiting visits give him the chance to see other parts of the country and he fully planned on using them to see places he would not normally get to. Hopefully, he gets in and we stay whole...

January 23, 201510 yr I thought more people would of freaked out over this... Do we not care or do we now accept the fact that the Irish will loose recruits?
January 23, 201510 yr If he doesn't have the needed scores then it was always a forgone conclusion that he would no be playing for ND. Wish he could have come here, but admissions isn't a new thin to be upset about. See McKenzie from last year. How many return yards for UG did he have this year?
January 23, 201510 yr I thought more people would of freaked out over this... Do we not care or do we now accept the fact that the Irish will loose recruits? I think that the general consensus before he even scheduled his UNC visit was that there was an academic issue and that we let him go gracefully to save face. I am sad, he was the best tackler I have seen since Joe Montana.
January 23, 201510 yr I thought more people would of freaked out over this... Do we not care or do we now accept the fact that the Irish will loose recruits? I think it's because we were all kinda expecting it. Overall, unless we have a surprise de-commit in the next few weeks, I would say this was a pretty quiet class compared to the last few. Only de-commits were Barnett and McKinney. We replaced Barnett adequately and it seems like ages ago that it happened, and McKinney simply wasn't able to get in due to academics. The staff has had much better luck in flipping recruits this year than losing them.

January 23, 201510 yr I thought more people would of freaked out over this... Do we not care or do we now accept the fact that the Irish will loose recruits? I've come to expect to lose a couple each year, ND always gets players to flip to ND so it all evens out.

January 24, 201510 yr Do we not care or do we now accept the fact that the Irish will loose recruits? Every team loses recruits, it is a fact of life. This was not a surprise to anyone who has been paying attention. He could not get his academics in order to be accepted by ND. ND was not left at the alter here...

McKinney was visiting UNC this weekend.
