Posted January 15, 201510 yr I think this is a good hire. I wonder how long he will put up with the Rainman Cutler. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2330990-insider-buzz-chicago-bears-to-hire-john-fox-as-next-head-coach
January 15, 201510 yr So much for any speculation of BK getting any looks anywhere.... Have to admit I'm pleasantly surprised...aside from initial whispers in the wind, there has been no mention of BK making the jump...
January 15, 201510 yr cant win with peyton. can he win with cutler? He went 38-10 in 3 seasons with Peyton, won 3 division titles and went to a SuperBowl. He also won a playoff game with Tim Tebow at QB. He is no Vince Lombardi, but he is a fine coach.

January 15, 201510 yr Can we get this lower tier NFL team off the main page... GO LIONS! Choke yourself!
January 15, 201510 yr Wasn't Fox still coaching The Panthers when they drafted Jimmy? If so, I wonder how that plays out.
January 15, 201510 yr I always lumped Fox into the meh category. He left Carolina in pretty rough shape, and though his Denver record is impressive....I am pretty sure almost anyone can lead a Peyton Manning team to a 11+ win season I guess I should hold of judgement on Fox and see what he can do with a team like the Bears.....but I am not sure he is a guy that is capable of turning a franchise around. January 15, 201510 yr Peyton's quad might have had a lot to do with this year tho. good and fair point.
January 15, 201510 yr Before we get too far down the road on this discussion, it should probably be pointed out that Fox to Da Bears is not a 100% done deal at this point; likely, but not done.
January 15, 201510 yr goal is super bowl right? never said he was a bad coach. Only 6-7 active coaches have won a Super Bowl, so that isn't a great gauge of coaching acumen.

Agree with your assessment (meh). Good, but not great coach. Wondering if he is past his prime and really has it in him to turn around a team like Chicago. I wish him well in his endeavors. That being said, as a born and bred Packer fan, I think this is a great hire. I see the NFC North as a battle between Green Bay and Detroit for the near future, with Minnesota rising, and Chicago bringing up the ranks.
January 16, 201510 yr I see the NFC North as a battle between Green Bay and Detroit for the near future, with Minnesota rising, and Chicago bringing up the ranks. quite possibly, but alot of that hinges on Rodgers and his health. Detroit is solid but how much of an upgrade is Stafford over Cutler? Can you really win (when it counts) with either? Minnesota is trending upwards for sure.
January 16, 201510 yr IMO, it's pretty simple. Bears fix the defense and they are a contender. Easier said then done tho.
I think this is a good hire. I wonder how long he will put up with the Rainman Cutler.
