Just finished watching this. It was very good, and well worth the 10 minutes.

As wonderful as this is as a ND fan, I can't help but feel saddened that this is an exception more than a rule and how dramatically college sports continue to move away from these sorts of exceptional representatives than they do towards them.

What an inspirational piece! In a world full of daily athletic blunders, it's a reminder that some have done it the right way! Kind of selfishly wished he coached at ND under some role lol...

In all honesty, I'm guessing guys do less dirt now than before. Sites just jump onto anything bad and it gets reported over and over again. Blessing and curse of the internet, I guess.

For example, Tom Waddle said many bears players would spend entire nights in bars throughout training camp. Couldn't happen now without 400 pictures on twitter and 90m of skip bayless wondering if they're a "distraction".

ND example, George Gipp died because he was stone cold drunk and missed curfew so he had to sleep outside. Hell, on this board alone people questioned Louis Nix's "dedication" and "focus" because he has a goofy personality.

TL;dr the dirt just gets more attention.

I hear you there, but I'm more concerned about Roethlisbergers, Ray Rice's and such. Not to mention the egoism.

Amazing story and video. Props to Ken Jeong for directing this-who also happens to be a licensed physician that went into comedy/acting.

great story...

I'll always remember that kick against Michigan, one of my fondest memories of Irish football.

GO IRISH!!!

Pretty sad that 30-for-30 does 60 minutes on a crap story like "The Boz" and puts no money and 10 minutes into Reggie Ho.

....and 120 minutes on "The U".

Ho's story could be vastly more entertaining and inspirational. But "s---" sells.

The BOZ 30-for-30 was awesome actually.

And he had a far greater impact on the future of college football than Reggie Ho.

but that also doesn't mean Reggie isn't a great story.

Also not sure who decides how long to make each 30-for-30. I would think that is up to producer and director and so forth. Also seems crazy to do all that work for just 13 minutes. that is why I don't understand the shorts.

with that said, Reggie's story honestly probably would have to get strung out quite a bit for 60 minutes. could be done well, but would have a lot of talking about how he felt 30 years ago about individual field goals.

this 13 minutes spot did a pretty great job wrapping it up quite tightly.

I'd be surprised if our poster,Schell, doesn't put people to sleep for him since he is in Philly.

Bias much? Sixty minutes of this story would've sucked and The Boz is good, Da U I&II were great.

I have never seen a 30 for 30 I didn't like. Obviously, some are better than others. I don't watch much TV, but this is always must see for me.

I think you are off on this one. "The U" was amazing.

"The Boz" was really good. Say what you will, but Bosworth was one of the great defensive college players . . . ever. His flameout makes the story compelling.

You might be able to get 15 minutes out of the Ho story. Without the football angle, it's just about really smart guy who went on to be a great doctor. The football angle itself isn't compelling outside of the Michigan game.
