Posted December 31, 201410 yr Golson is supposed to graduate in May. BK is 15-1 when he starts a freshman or redshirt freshman. Let the debate begin...on the first issue that is...haha
December 31, 201410 yr wimbush will redshirt his freshmen year, need some separation between him and zaire.
December 31, 201410 yr Have we already forgotten about a certain 6'5 Freshman QB in the name of Kizer?

December 31, 201410 yr Wait till malik throw his fourteenth INT and loses his 8th fumble. Fixed. It does seem as though Kizer has become an afterthought to some fans.
December 31, 201410 yr I can not see Golson leaving ND. If he does, Kizer will be in the two QB system. I expect big things from Kizer.

January 1, 201510 yr Wait till malik throw his first INT. INTs are far less aggravating than fumbles...especially multiple fumbles...
January 1, 201510 yr Fun question...but Wimbush needs some time. Don't sleep on Kizer. EG and MZ will keep posters plenty busy.
January 1, 201510 yr Hopefully Kizer's improved his sidearmed throwing mechanics. I've watched him for years here at Central Catholic and his delivery always had a low trajectory to it like a slider. Guy's a winner though...

Yeah, kizer beat my alma motto for the state title a few years back. The same team malik SHOULD have played for if he went to the school in his district and not got to a private school. Would have been nice to see them square off.
January 1, 201510 yr Author Sorry, Kizer. Didn't really forget about you. I was just alluding to the next best flavor in a non-serious way. I thought the real question was does Everett transfer.
January 1, 201510 yr INTs are far less aggravating than fumbles...especially multiple fumbles... The offensive style is far more aggravating to me. I hate all those WR screens and all that parameter based play calling with everything riding on QB passes. What we saw against LSU is what used to be called ND football: Powerful, punishing, time consuming, drive sustaining, touchdown producing dominance. Beat the mother fcuckers up all game long and then walk off the field victorious. Just pray that Kelly accepts that his WR screens, big chunk play, the QB is a Nintendo master system doesn't work. Otherwise we'll be losing 4 games again. The scary thing is that everybody I've talked to isn't convinced that Kelly can put his ego aside and run the offense we saw against LSU next year.

He has proven that he can't. It's just not what he does.
January 1, 201510 yr I don't buy that for a second. If Malik is our man, Kelly isn't going to harness him and hancuff his capabilities - that would be like letting a race horse be a pony ride at the picnic.
January 1, 201510 yr Every good coach is stubborn. But every good coach adapts some as well. This will be the million dollar question...what/how does BK adjust? With the monster OL I was hoping we would run less outside zone stuff...and that's what BK did...more straight ahead and less real wide stuff. And the wide stuff was fast hitting.

If Malik is our man, Kelly isn't going to harness him and hancuff his capabilities - that would be like letting a race horse be a pony ride at the picnic. Just think about the fact that you wrote "if Malik is our man". What other fanbase would wonder if the QB who (a) replaced a QB that had 22 turnovers and lost 5 games, and (b) then, in his first start beat LSU while winning MVP for the game with no turnovers, would not unquestionably be the starter? Kelly is 16-0 when ND doesn't turn the ball over. You'd think this would be an open and shut case. But is it?
January 1, 201510 yr No way Wimbush starts. If he does, he's either really, REALLY special, or CBK has finally lost his mind. If Golson transfers, it's a loss, but not a season ending loss. I have confidence in Zaire, and the potential backup in Kizer is supposed to be a pretty good athlete himself. Play calling should be a bigger concern than the quarterback IMO.
