Just dismantled Purdue by 30 points. Call me pleasantly surprised. Something good & ND? And it's still 2014?? I should shut up now before something bad happens.

Yes they are surprising....ironically their record right now is what the football teams record should be right now...the men's BB team is playing well can't wait to see how good they are in conference play. Fsu doesn't count, that like Vanderbilt in the sec when it comes to basketball.

By the way someone has got to pay the bills. Go BBall...

Helluva lot more fun to watch than the football team this year! Like to see some athleticism to go along with shooters. Will Brey finally make a statement this year in the tourney or **** the bed again that's the question.

The ACC is a meat grinder this year. Duke, Ville, UVA, UNC, Miami are all ranked. That's not leaving out teams like Cuse, and Pitt who are a bit down, but still fully capable of beating any ACC team on a given night.

I think they'll probably end up in a 5-7 seed range and make it to the Sweet 16. However, I think Jerian Grant is the most underrated player in college basketball.

The starting 5 for ND was vastly underrated coming into the season. Not many teams have a better five if you ask me. Beachem should be back against N. Illinois making the depth one of Brey's best as well.

I didn't watch the game but saw this ridiculous dunk by 6'1" D. Jackson over a 7'2" center on the news.

Won't get excited till were in the tourney. Until, then this team needs to play a ranked team on the road, before I get excited.

Yes, and when will this team peak. It will be soon. There is no way that you can go a whole season with 4 guys playing the whole game every game. It can't happen and stay at a high level. I saw yesterday where they have the number 1 shooting percentage in the country. That is not going to last so when that goes does this team then start to go down with it?

Grant had his worst game of the season shooting wise and ND still dominated. That's the best news from yesterday if you ask me.

What's the point of worrying about this?? ND could very well have a great team this season and you're wasting your time here fretting over what YOU think might happen. This is why we can't have nice things. Enjoy the season, guys. One step at a time.

Haha I'm not fretting about anything. I learned a long time ago to not get too invested in Mike Brey teams. 6 tournament wins in 14 yrs. 1 sweet 16 appearance. It's Ground Hog Day every year. Names do change but the story doesn't. His teams are just incredibly predictable. I just have a lot of Brey history that says enjoy but don't get too invested.

I'm enjoying them for what they are. I think they have some great pieces, and I hope I am wrong. If this team is different and does well in the tournament, then I will be pleasantly surprised.

I do think this is one of (if not the most) athletic team Brey has ever had. Especially at the guard position. Really, all of the positions are very athletic compared to years past, but hopefully this is the year that this athleticism comes together at the end. Trust me, I'm right there with you when it comes to post season play--or lack thereof. Madison Square Garden was ND's kryptonite. That, and FSU, seemingly. We're finally at a place where ND's not having to rely on gimmicky burn offenses to win the game. Hopefully, this is the year to at least make it past the first couple of rounds.

I'll say this: Jackson has really matured and is playing like one of the top guards in the country. And only a sophomore, as they say!

Only thing positive is with all the a$$ kickings, quite a few bench players have played. Though, at times he keeps the starters in way to long.

Well he was one of the best players in his class. Was one of Breys best recruits ever. Somehow Luke Zeller was a 5*, but I'd say Jackson is a bit better.

Even Luke Zeller was on an NBA team for a while, if my memory serves. If we would have gotten either of the other Zeller brothers we could have been awesome those years.

This team is also destroying the teams they play. In past years even the cupcakes were closer than you would have liked. This team just has a different feel than in past years.

Now, if the public would show up to games that be nice. Girls sell out almost every game. But, then again I hear tickets are more expensive.

I'd be at every game. Unfortunately, I live kinda far ??

You mean the Vanderbilt team that is 292-191 under Kevin Stallings since 2000 while Mike Brey has gone 315-160? Vanderbilt is in the upper tier of basketball programs in the SEC. It would be more apt to say FSU is like Auburn of the SEC.
