With his father being a known drug dealer, pornographer, violent gang member and habitual pot smoker... This is one recruit the administration would prefer to stay away from.

Not that others haven't had similar family "issues" - none have been so visible in promoting this type of lifestyle.

Don't get me wrong, the chronic album and doggy style changed my childhood...but I just don't think this is the RKG

HaHa you don't know what you are talking about. Snoop is about as violent as Kim Kardashian. That is who he is now. I wouldn't want his kid because of the celebrity not because his father is a mythical violent gang member. Basically you are just being racist, how do you know Bob Jovi and Chris Collinsworth are not puffing the ganja in ND stadium with strippers and why not, guns.

lol, I swear, no one can insult any African American anymore. While I agree that Snoop is actually a good guy, Snoop Dogg also advertises the gangsta life, it has nothing to do with him being black, he does it still and use to advertise that lifestyle A LOT.

I know this black guy that tripped and fell on his face, I laughed at him. Does that make me racist?

Only if you stuck your foot out.... And then just maybe

Maybe 20 years ago, but so did Jon Bon Jovi. He did the sountrack for young guns a movie about gangsters. In his gangster song he discussed guns and going out in a "blaze of glory". So yes, it is racist to critize an entertainers son when there are other celebrity kids on the team that are white and their fathers lyrics were embellished to appeal to an audience the same as Snoops. I don't even like Snoop and hate defending him, but Da coach's comments were ridiculous.

Lol, what a dumpster fire.

Agreed, Snoop today is what he is... He's not violent today, but when he was younger he did some stupid ish that is still being publicized to some level at his bequest. Nothing I used to describe Snoop's past was inaccurate or made up...it's the truth of what he has done as a part of building a music and entertainment empire. I'm not one to say what is right or wrong, I'm simply saying it's a bad mix with the ultra conservative university and culture.

How do I know Bon Jovi, Collinsworth, Golic, Fertitta, Robinson, Torii Sr, Clausen or any other celeb parent wasn't smoking herb, with a gun around "strippers" while at Notre Dame....really ? Well, I'm just gonna say this, they haven't been instagramming pictures of buds or tweeting links to porn videos - so at the very least I can say they are significantly less likely than Snoop. Call it an informed prediction..but I like to keep the former High Times Man of the Year away from the locker room. It's not to say pro football players don't smoke weed, but I don't think it enhances their performance and would assume keep that culture away from the locker room as much as possible.

And why not guns ? I guess the only problem I have is when they are used to proactively attack, rob, hurt or kill someone outside of self defense... The problem with your side of this is, the man made millions on phrases like "187 on a moths fckn cop"... I guess that is what I view as counter to the Notre Dame message and culture... You realize, this is a highly conservative catholic institution...right?

While I try not to speak in absolutes, hyperbole or say never... I learned that lesson from penn state... I feel pretty confidant in saying that no other parent has done so much to promote marijuana, produce porno movies nor was an influential member of a music scene that promoted violence and masogony - ever. If there was a Mount Rushmore of "gangster rap" Snoop would be on it. That culture and message is in direct conflict with the message and ethos of Notre Dame.

The university has kicked kids out of school for streaking for goodness sake...you think they are going to be cool when the Snoop brand gets attached to the one they have built ? They didn't want Obama to give a commencement speech because he campaigned as pro choice...the admin had a meeting with BK when Justin Brent went on his recent sexcapades ... I'm not saying it's a guarantee to be a problem or that there would be incidents of misbehavior, but the microscope and attention across the community would be even greater...thereby increasing the probability of an incident and expanded collateral damage.

Do you think this is a good fit for Notre Dame and Snoop's kid ? I know he can play, I bet he's a decent kid with a different ideology than his father, I understand his dad has gotten older and away from some of his past...but it is undeniable that with Son comes father's reputation. That kind of attention only draws negative attention...and is that something that would be good for the kid ? Who will likely end up at UCLA or USC because of a better cultural fit.

It has nothing to do with race... Throwing that around is careless, offensive, inaccurate and cheap...

Wow.. That is the silliest analogy I have read in a long time. Hello reality. Jim2Dokes is losing his grip on you.

Yep, these are basically the same message...

Fair enough coach. And I agree we do not need the attention as I stated but I differ in the reasoning. From what I have heard about Snoops son makes him look like a altar boy compared to current ND celebrity Justin Brent.

And if Cordell Broadus was involved in the same situation as Justin Brent, the stories would still be going and Snoop would be commenting to paparazzi on what he thought... Bringing even more undesired attention.

Fair enough ? You call someone a racist, compare Bon Jovi to Snoop Dogg in terms of morality in music to support your opinion and I'm supposed say, it's no big deal... To hell with you. You are an irresponsible little twit who hurls insults and damnation at someone who points out an obvious drawback in recruiting this specific situation - and expressed the same opinion you now share...

You want fair... Go away...never be heard from again. Go about your wild and exciting life of trolling people with insults and assbaggery

I felt that you were stating some racist comments and you cleared it up with your essay. So yeah no big deal. You can continue stewing, I still feel as though your initial comments were irresponsible but I'm over it.

What about my initial or latter comments even remotely involved race ?
