I would hate to see BK leave because i still believe he can be the guy.

He just has to change a few things that aren't working.

IMO, New OC that has full control (i know, i know) but BK has to let go

New DC , i know it's BVG's first year but i have never liked him, we need a DC that is up to date.

And bye bye Hiestand, sorry but the Dinosaur has to go. Our 4-5* OL are getting pushed around by lesser opponents.

And finally, if BK goes, bring me back a coach that runs the Pro Offense, I truly believe this is the best offense to run at ND

Indifferent. I used to believe that he could be the guy and that he truly embraced ND tradition but I'm doubting the former and believe the latter is just a show he puts on. He's got way too much politician in him to be trusted and I believe the ND stage is just too big for him. JMO.

If we didn't smack an absolute home run or at the very least a walk off ground rule double with this next hire I'll be extremely ticked off.

Think about that.....In order to be successful, he needs a new OC, DC, and O-line coach. That's a heck of a lot of blame to disperse....

I 100% agree with a pro-style offense though. You can still effectively run this without as many elite game breakers.

Hope he leaves and takes the rest of the clowns with him. BK is a stubborn, hard headed, pig headed little man who needs to go.

We would be in deep ****!

I would love to know how tall you are?

You are only 3" where it matters!

Yeah but if I push back my freshman 15, and my budweiser mini keg, I'm 3.75''

the sooner Kelly is gone the better ND will be IMO. but then I'm also counting on someone better being hired as a replacement, and I think the level of "Notre Dame" football has increased making it more appealing to other top tier coaches.

I completely agree with half of your statement. I don't want him to leave, because I think we are really close to something great, but if he does go we need to strike while the iron is hot now that are football brand is recognize among the nations best.

More teams are getting away from the Pro style QB, even in the NFL and you want to go back to it?

I do agree with you about Hiestand. The zone blocking does not work against a team with good LBs.

It really comes down to execution. Zone blocking is a very fine scheme to implement if your guys can run it, but we can't.

That being said I was worried about our OL before his first season when they announced a blocking scheme change and after our first year I saw enough of the "coveted zone blocking" scheme.

I don't give a rats *** if we run zone blocking in the future so long as our guys can fulfill their blocking assignments.

This has been kicked around for a long time and the question is still, why would a good coach want to come to ND?

I doubt that ND would consider a coach who is not a HC. He would have to be so clean that he sparkles. He would have to be a super recruiter and would like to travel all across the country speaking at the ND fan clubs because he will put in twice the hours as other coaches.

If Kelly is fired, after what Kelly has done, don`t expect anyone to apply for the job. Most would be taking a pay cut.

BTW, Kelly will be here for a few more years. IMO

National TV Contract.

Nearly unlimited revenue potential if we make big bowls. If I'm not mistaken now that the BCS is no longer in effect, we get to cash the entire payout in our checking acct?

One of largest recruiting budgets in country - coast to coast

Top flight academics to sell

Tradition that's 2nd to none

New facilities and commitment to improve football stadium

We've shown the ability to open up our checkbook finally.

Active recruiting pipeline to some good HS programs

We have had a lot of recent success with NFL talent

The only really negative I see to our football program recruiting wise is the fact we make you go to class, do your work, and pass. We make you earn a top flight education that will prepare you for almost anything in life with ND's alumni base and connections.

My point is that why some people claim our academics as problems, there is a way to embrace it and use it as a recruiting tool.

As long as we can get a proven head coach, I want a guy who has proven he can win with lesser talent. I think Chris Peterson would be a home run hire, I just don't know if he'd leave Washington after one season.

I pretty much agree with all of this. I do believe BK is not only a good coach, but he is also a coach that gets ND and can see it well. I know BVG was in his first year with young players and lots of injuries, but I can't still wrap my head around the total defensive collapse. Nor can I understand how we can't stop running QBs. Hiestand may be a good recruiter, but it doesn't appear he is able to cultivate the talent. Our OL shouldn't be getting dominated, nor should they be totally whiffing on their blocks. That to me is inexcusable!

Hopefully next year is better. Getting tired of saying that though.

i really wouldn't care if he left, it's ND im use to disappointment and a lousy offseason.

Actually, I have been hearing the ProStyle QB who can maneuver in the pocket is the where it is trending.
