I was really hoping he was coming back next year.

Why do all of ND's good D-linemen jump ship at the earliest opportunity? Tuitt... Nix... now Jones....

Not to mention Lynch and Vanderdoes....

Probably doesn't want to play Navy again...

This is another indication that players don't much like playing for Kelly. Ever since Te'o and Floyd stayed, just about everyone who could leave has, save Zach Martin, but he had his brother to play with.

I still contend Kelly is a master at building a program, but in over his head at sustaining one.

Here is hoping Pete Mowkwah is ready to go.

He's definitely talented. Question the timing but wish him all the best. Hopefully this doesn't become a trend this season though.

Honestly, his decision does not make any sense. He wasn't projecting all that high before the injury and he had a good season, but didn't light the world in fire. This makes me think Day is 100% gone.

I agree with you. Displinarian who helps you but who you don't want to be around very long..

Tweets are suggesting this may be a jay Hayes practical joke.

But I still stand by my statement.

Good for him. Smart move.

Probably doesn't want to play Navy again...

Beat me to it haha. He is young but the NFL loves guys like him, he's a physical freak inside and made lots of plays. For everyone who loves Sheldon (me included) I think Jones was better this year. With a good combine who knows how high he'll go, but I think in the first 3.
