Did anyone know Bitcoin has a bowl now. Pretty sweet for a non-sanctioned currency.

I'd be ok with it, saw Rutgers/UCF (before it was bitcoin) a few years ago. I'm still hoping for game within driving distance of orlando so I can be pissed off sitting in the stands rather then pissed off in front of my tv.

The word is ND vs Auburn in the Belk bowl now.

lol, we would get destroyed.

Destroyed is a relative term.

I'd say if ND played Auburn today, it would be 52-38.

What are the other options?

I don't want to see Auburn rush for 350.

I stand by the best option is skipping a bowl game. Too many injuries to even be competitive with a semi decent team. They've only got 2 scholarship safeties that are healthy. It'd be one of Hardy wasn't brought back from suspension. The team is done, they've packed it in for the year. Why embarrass the program more by showing up to a no name bowl and getting your azz beat...again.

I agree that the injuries are a concern and that getting smoked in a bowl game would not exactly do wonders for recruiting, but we absolutely need to play in a bowl game. The extra practices and another game will be a huge benefit for the younger players in the program. We need those freshman and sophomores to get as much experience as possible heading into 2015, which could be a big year. I hate to say this, but getting destroyed by a quality opponent could actually get this guys motivated heading into the spring. A little adversity could go along way in helping these players get some mental toughness.

The practice time for the young guys is more important than any reason to not play in the bowl game. Regardless of the way the season ended, ND earned a bowl game. It's not right to do that to the players who work hard week in and week out.

I read sun bowl vs Utah is likely destination

Are they not allowed to practice if they're not in a bowl? There's no benefit in playing this last game. I have no doubt ND will take a bid, but it's pointless. There's no positives coming out of this.

The bowl only matters if Zaire is the QB so he gets live game snaps. If we are just dragging Golsons corpse out there again to throw 3 picks then no thanks.

We are complaining about the lack of snaps for these true freshman.

I say we run oklahoma and other full collision drills until these kids are fed up and then some more. We need live scrimmages with full contact on both QBs.

I could care less if we come out flat, dead legged and get smoked. These kids need more snaps of real football practice to get any better.

15 walkthroughs won't do it..

I also saw Pinstripe against Penn State.

Yesssssssssssss

I hope we play a team that is very borderline, or we are going to get destroyed. Even if we get Cody and Sheldon back we were getting whooped with them here. NC scored 43, FSU 31, ASU 55, NW 43, LU 31, and USC was merciful with 49. So, how in the world will we be able to stop any team? So, getting whooped in 4 straight games and Navy scoring 39 do we even have a chance with extra practices. Getting embarrassed once again? Our only hope is we can possibly win and look decent to recruits. I guess declining a bowl would turn off recruits too. Right now we are in a lose lose situation. I don't see really any chance of us beating anybody, so I sure hope I am wrong.

But, is this defense really going to get better in 3 weeks? Maybe a little.

I think we have to accept a bowl game bid because of it possible negative impacts. But, if we don't learn how to score 45 or 50 we will have little to no chance to win IMO.

What a crappy season all the way around.

Practice time is over if they don't play in a bowl. And there are plenty of positives that can come out of bowl.

Oh, the Sun Bowl would be what we deserve. I was there the last bowl game where we beat up Miami and it was glorious. But, we had NFL talent all over the place--Manti, Rudolph was hurt, Harrison, Blanton, Watt, Martin, T Robinson, Floyd, Eifert, Allen hurt I believe, Gray, Wood, Hughes, TJ Jones, Riddick, Cave.

And we don't have that same luxury now. We are seriously depleted. I am very scared we will be embarrassed for a 5th straight game.

Oh well, it is what it is. I hope our guys will rise to the occasion and save the season and ND's Rep.

Go Irish!

I was at that game and it was freezing. Looking at that list, Weis sure did recruit a lot of NFL talent.

I for one, want a bowl game. Reason #1 - and its a big one... PRACTICES!!! This team obviously needs their young guys to get practice, its the only way the can get any better right now.

Reason #2 - For Zaire to come in with 3 weeks before a game and knowing that he will be playing the whole game will benefit him in a HUGE way. I think Zaire and GB can be a deadly duo. LOVE Folston but it seems like those two are a great combo.

I know everybody thinks we would get stomped by Auburn if we got them, but i personally would love to see us have a game against a really good opponent, as painful as it might be.
