I think Urban informed Braxton that they are moving forward with Barrett next year so that Braxton can decide what he wants to do.

 

Sources say he has contacted Oregon but nothing is done or imminent.

Chris Carter the other day said if he was Meyer, when next season comes around, he would - no doubt about it - hand Barrett a hat and clipboard and say "thanks" for last year but Miller is the starter. I really can't see how it would be that cut and dry, especially if the kid still takes them to bigger places than they already are. Hell, he might even land up in NY for the Heisman ceremony.

I would definitely keep playing Barrett next year. He is a redshirt freshman and fits that offense very well.

This would be an excellent move for all parties concerned. Barrett is very well suited for the style of play that OSU plays, has improved very nicely as the season has played out, and possess the size needed to remain healthy while running their offense. Meanwhile, Miller leaving for Oregon provides him with a ready made opportunity to play for a national championship and flourish in an offense that's made for his style of play. Additionally, Oregon will benefit greatly from his transfer as he's a known commodity. In short, it makes perfect sense for everyone.

I would. He developed somebody else's QB and now has developed his own. Kelly seems to be the own one who has to have the perfect QB for his system and is still searching for him in year 5

 

Golson can throw but not run. Rees couldn't really do anything. Crist, Hendrix and Massa couldn't do anything as well.

I haven't heard urban say he would be on the bench and no decent coach would. Kelly would rather play sheldon day at QB then malik (hyperbole) but he made him feel like a possible starter in the offseason. Braxton will get his shot for the NFL whether he's playing or holding a clipboard. Would be awkward in another locker room with a big a$s ohio state tattoo.
