We get our a$$ handed to us by USC,

 

we play in a lousy bowl game.

 

We lose some recruits to decommits

 

We miss out on our top remaining targets

 

transfers- I'm looking at you bryant and zaire

 

Kelly swears everyone is a stud in spring camp but the spring game is anti climatic.

 

players careers ending due to injury

 

Players flunking out or getting into trouble

 

By the time next season starts we'll be back to being a few players away and needing a little more depth to be a contender.

Glad i'm not the only one that did this.. I didn't wear a single piece of ND garb this week. Casually forgot to record the game. Tuned in after cleaning & organizing my garage to see EG throw an int right before the half. Turned the channel & continued with garage detail. Came back to watch 2nd half. Watched em get a few ****** calls in theur favor & refs handing the team a win on a silver platter. Watched em f--k it up & lose in final seconds..

 

Next week? Lmfao... Good luck

Never stated that i am a casual fan. I simply acted it out this week. Call out the team, not i

I love ND football.

The last two years I have become an 'angry' Irish fan. Watching the games I find myself becoming irate at some of the play calling and the unbridled mistakes by the players. It makes my family not want to watch the games with me.

Because of this, and sensing losses, I did not watch either the Northwestern game or the Louisville game. Not even one play of either game. I took my boys to see the Hunger Games movie during the game today.

Strangely I find myself much less stressed about these two games. Sadly I have become skeptical of BK and BVG and their ability to take ND consistently to the land of the elite.

So, the last two Saturdays have been kind of fun around here. No anger or unhappiness.

Just a sad return to mediocre expectations regarding ND football.

The university is content to have the smartest 7-5 football team in football.

That being said, I honestly couldn't care less if the entire fanbase turned their back on ND - I'm here 'til I die. Stick around/leave, root/don't - just do what you need to do. I won't lose sleep of we lose some fans this season.

Exactly this. Last week I avoided some articles, I stayed away from the message boards a little more. None of this was because the Irish lost a game they should have won. It was because our Irish "fans" so easily turn their backs. If you all cant see what happened to this team you need to take a step back. It's not an excuse this is reality.

 

Many people thought including myself we were a 9 to 10 win team at best because of the new o line, golson potentiL rust, defensive depth. Then the team came out hair on fire and damn them for giving us hope. Every week we lost players due to injury, we kept plugging in younger and younger guys and we as Irish fans thought we could keep winning. C'mon, Nick Saban could not win with all the freshman we have had to play.

 

This is Thanksgiving week, so lets look at the things to be thankful for. Faith, family and a fighting irish team that will always keep us coming back for more. I want to see this team win just as much as anyone I scream and holler every, but at the end of the game when the clock strikes zero win or lose it doesn't effect my life as a whole.

I cannot accept that ND has a mediocre record and is unranked due to injuries.

I cannot accept that ND loses games to teams with players of lesser talent just because "every team ND plays brings their A game".

I do believe ND's season may have been different if the frozen five had been allowed to thaw.

I am thankful for many things, including this Irish team.

I still wear my ND gear and love ND and the things ND represents.

But I do question why this team does not win more games.

As fans, we are bound by ND and I love my Irish brethren..
