As mad as I still am we can get to 10 wins and as unrealistic as it still looks it is possible. I have only watched Louiville once against FSU and thought the D was very good in the first half. Maybe someone who has watched them more can chime in but if we don't score 30-40 points I give us no chance.... They have a good coach and you can bet with Day and Cage out they will attack us inside.

Depth is killing us but I'm just wondering if there is a chance we can stop any offense? I mean Northwestern was bad and Louisville lost their starting qb but I know they have better athletes than the team we saw last week. It's also clear BVG's system is too much for these guys to handle so he has to shove his ego aside like BK and make things simple so these guys aren't thinking too much which was something his system wouldn't make them do.

On another note is anyone scared we lose guys like Redfield and Bryant to transfer? Imagine Redfield watching Traquill **** the bed and Bryant watching Cam all year, Bryant for sure must be counting down till the season ends.

I read we were 18 point favorites against Northwestern

Who the blank knows...

Golson is a turnover machine, he had 2 more turnovers Saturday with a couple picks dropped. My faith in him is completely spent and I am at the point, where there needs to be a QB competition for the rest of the season.

This defense has deteriorated to Weis-ian levels of awful and can't stop ANYONE. That performance on Saturday was the worst by a Notre Dame defense in the history of of the school.(Look at who we were playing, four plays of more than 20 yards before us...four against us...their 547yds was more than 150yds more than their previous season high)

I really wouldn't be surprised if we end up 7-5. The wheels have come off and there is no silver lining with this season. Saturday was the worst loss I've ever seen. Worse than Tulsa. Worse than the 'Cuse game. The absolute worst.

Just makes you wonder how the team feels.

I would say if UNC and Navy pushed us to the brink. Then we get beat by an awful northwestern team . It doesn't look promising with the rest of the schedule.

I just hope Kelly plays for next year. For example, I want to see Folston and Bryant. I get the whole Senior thing, but Cam forfeited that chip when he fumbled Saturday. Play him on Special Teams, that's his best hope for the NFL anyway. Same goes for Collinsworth: Every rep that goes to him is one less for a returning player.

I'd get guys like Smythe in the game more and get Zaire some reps. If there's a younger guy really pushing a guy like Lombard, give him some reps. We are officially playing for next season.

I want Kelly to keep pushing his offense as wide open as possible. If we stop turning over the ball, we have the potential to have an Oregon like offense next year. So, keep the throttle open and have the players adapt to playing error free ball.

Defensively, I would play a vanilla scheme. The D is far below the O at this point when it comes to talent and experience. Let the O win the game if possible and focus on fundamental like tackling and gap responsibility on the D.

And what we did against FSU wasn't special. Not at all. Who hasn't been leading against FSU at the half?

I expect ND to finish at 7-5. NDs offense turns the ball over way to much and the defense gets worse every week. the cards have a very good defense and I expect the turnovers to continue and bobby patreno will tempo ND to death.

ND has to many injuries (Day, Schmidt, etc) suspended players and loss of confidence to beat Louisville. Going to be a tough two weeks

ND opened as 9 point favorites.

Down to 3.5 according to Vegas.

We are AT BEST a 50/50 shot

aloha

Honestly feel that the victory over Navy is the last time this season we will be in the W column, including the bowl game.

Teams have figured out how to effectively defend Golson (and the turnovers), and our D gives up too many points. I see a 7-5 season. I love Golson, but he is not the ideal QB for Kelly's system. Come to think of it, I'm not sure Kelly has ever had a QB at ND that has fit his system. Depressing.

IMO, this will be a telling week for BK. Does his team come out and compete or do the wheels continue to fall off?

I do expect them to come out with some pride and play better than they have the past few weeks....but....

I just can't see them beating louisville. They are very athletic on defense. And although they are starting a different qb, he has played plenty and will not be rattled. This is the worst defense ND has played, really, ever. Can they drastically turn things around? I just can't see it.

I think we will beat Louisville, but I don't have confidence against USC. Too bad, that is the game I want.

We will beat Louisville

USC will thump us

He has had an intellectual moxie guy, a strong armed pocket passer and a dual threat with a rocket arm.

How many more types are there?

They have their backup qb in, we definitely have a shot

Of course ND has a chance. If ND doesn't turn the ball over they can compete against anyone in the country. Obviously, that's a big if these days though.

Even IF the turnovers cease on the offense, this defense is shot and couldn't stop a parade of old ladies with walkers.
