What does this even mean? How does losing a game set a program back two years?

Was Auburn set back two years yesterday for losing at home?

Was Kansas St set back two years?

Michigan St?

LSU?

Heck, if anything, playing a game in which you started 0 seniors on defense and two on offense is probably a good thing and moved the team ahead half a season.

Huh? The 2012 Auburn team finished out their season by losing to Bama 49-0. The following season they were in the national championship game. Please tell me what you are talking about.

No offense, but you are overreacting here. You are not the only one.

Sweet. 2 years ago ND was in the title game.

This is a ridiculous statement. The program grows stronger with each recruiting class. I saw a bunch of bad luck yesterday. The ball seemed to bounce right to them. Had Corey Robinson made that one catch I think we were going to pull it out. Regroup. Beat Northwestern. Climb the polls and let's make a stronger run at this thing next year. Next year was always the year on paper. It still is.

I disagree, people do need to vent but they're not above being called out for their weakness as fans.

That is all

Silly talk, we beat ourselves yesterday plain and simple.

Comments like this set the board back six years. That is all.

Also, two years ago, we went to the National Championship.

If every time we lose bad we are set back a couple of years, we should be back in the Holtz era anytime now.8-)

We need the Intelligent notion from the main banner to be incorporated in the forum banner...

only thing that sets this board back 6 years is not having a mobile page.

Why have a board if you can't post what you think and not get slammed for it by the real, "loyal" fans. I'm just as "loyal" as any of you. I wear my nd shirt to work on Friday, wear blue, green or gold all day Saturday. Don't miss a minute of the games so don't tell me im not a good fan because I posted my opinion.

Sorry, I think that loss hurt the program on a national level. Especially west coast recruiting. We made ASU look like the best team in the country.

I love our players, like our coach but I think that was a set back.

I wouldn't worry about getting slammed, I think everyone is probably just frustrated, and deal with it differently. We just need to hope we can win out and get a decent bowl game to hopefully win.

I don't think it's a question of loyalty. I think it's a question of whether or not a particular comment has any basis in reason or if it in any way provokes thoughtful discussion. Saying that yesterday's loss set the program back two years without any explanation or supporting statements is of no use. Anybody can criticize. Just give reasons for your criticism. If you criticize without doing so, be prepared to read the appropriate responses.

This should've been your first post, instead of saying what you did and then dropping the mic.

losing that bad was an embarrassment and just put a different kind of importance on the remaining schedule

ND will be scrutinized win or lose no matter what

games of importance will always matter more and in reality ND hasn't won a single game this season that could be considered impressive by any stretch of the imagination

2 year set back? I don't buy it.

Losing like they did just shows the rest of the country that ND hasn't earned the right to be taken seriously when talking about elite football programs in the country. They are still suffering from the Alabama game and this game sure didn't help the cause.

You are only as bad as your last game, ASU gave up 62 in a loss to UCLA earlier this year, that seems all forgotten now. Anybody who watched the game yesterday knows that ND was probably more responsible for the loss then ASU winning it, hell even after 4 turnovers we were down 3 with 6 minutes to go, the score looks worse then it really was, didn't appreciate ASU rubbing it in at the end either, Kelly would not have done that.

So what schools have earned the right?
