November 7, 201410 yr oh. so they played strong for 21 minutes? but the other 39 minutes they got absolutely worked? I don't usually question other writers opinions very strongly, but this is flat out ridiculous.

I don't usually question other writers opinions very strongly, but this is flat out ridiculous. Not ridiculous at all. If you take away the part of the game they lost 46-7, they actually won 20-0. They should be #1.

November 7, 201410 yr I have been steadfast since I have been here, that Dennis Dodd is without a doubt, the laziest and worst national CFB writer out there. He is so bad.
November 7, 201410 yr Yeah it's frustrating because this ND team wouldn't lose by more than a possession to anyone in College Football and would likely push Oregon around. I don't get the lovefest with Michigan State, margin of win should have some impact (unfortunate for us), but margin of loss is a huge indicator of a team's quality. Let's hope MSU loses to Ohio State because if they make the playoff they'll get stomped by three touchdowns to whoever they play.

Exhibit A. 31-0, 30-14 Exhibit B. 35-11, 45-31 What are those numbers? Why it's the scores when both teams played Michigan and Purdue. We're A and they are B, you'll notice a better Margin of Victory in both cases. Which is why I believe that if we both win on Saturday, we'll leap-frog Michigan State. There is a lot of fear in Sparty Nation about us right now. They look at this week's poll as a potential death knell on their chances. The fact they didn't move up and ASU moving up to 9, is killer for them.
November 7, 201410 yr How convenient that Dodd doesn't have a Comments section at the end of his article (from what I could see). Otherwise I'd be calling for a Piratey peppering right now.

To me it is clear as day and the only reason it's being discussed is because of some bias against ND, because that's the only logical explanation.

Oh they have one. But commenting would be pissing in the wind, there are already 1568 comments that call out Dodd's insipid little article. Once comments reach the hundreds, I don't bother with snarky replies.

Once comments reach the hundreds, I don't bother with snarky replies. Ah, gotcha. But now I understand why he's still employed -- people actually read his material. Maybe the best thing for us to do is ignore the effer.

Ask anyone in the Detroit media market and they'll tell you that Sparty would beat us by two scores on a neutral site. My biggest problem with Michigan State has been they have played approximately one QB in the last 2 years who can throw down field with consistently and they lost by 19. Here's a fun stat. Tommy Rees is the best QB they faced last year. By like 40 spots.
November 7, 201410 yr This article was ridiculous! It was definitely one of the dumbest things I have ever read.

ND has beat them three straight times by 39 total points and now they would beat the best ND team if the four by two scores? Priceless.
November 7, 201410 yr I clicked on "the experts picks". A majority of them have ASU beating ND. Unless the defense plays poorly, like really poor, I just don't see it. Might be eating crow later but I just don't see it.

November 7, 201410 yr Phil Steels--Jason Sehorn and Colin Cowherd----ALL PICK ND! As far as MSU goes--an OVERRATED team IMO. I look for that 4 star laden roster of urban meyer to find a way to win OSU---27---MSU --17 aloha's

I look for that 4 star laden roster of urban meyer to find a way to win OSU---27---MSU --17 aloha's Urban had a four star laden team last year and found a way to lose by 10. They had a better QB, a MUCH better RB, four veteran players off their online... Ohio State is a paper tiger. They have played maybe the worst schedule of any team in the power-5 conferences and lost by double digits, at home, to a 4-5 VTech team. tOSU's wins are Navy(4-5), Kent State(1-, Cincy(5-3), Maryland(6-3), Rutgers(5-4), PSU(4-4) and Illinois(4-5)
November 7, 201410 yr Don't talk about paper tigers Piratey without LOOKING again at MSU Jacksonville state Eastern Michigan Wyoming Indiana Purdue AND A HAPLESS Michigan the only two good teams they played they got trounced by Oregon and LUCKED OUT against Nebraska who had them beat and let them get away OSU by 10--mark it down-- aloha's

I guess Dodd completely forgot about the Notre Dame/FSU game
Controversial loss by 4 points to the number 2 team in the nation
or
MSU giving up 28 straight points in the second half so the #4 team in the nation can pull away and win by three scores
