Im tired of hearing how good and tough Navy is. They have a losing record of 4-5. Air Force and WKU handled them.

Agree 100%. Every time we play Navy or Purdue, I hear "They play their best against Notre Dame" and we are supposed to disregard the fact that these teams really aren't good. The bottom line is if ND wants to be considered a national title contender, they need to destroy that team. Period. It's even worse when you consider that they were coming off of a bye week. I don't want to hear how tough Navy is any more.

Not an excuse. ND played sloppy defense for two quarters in a new style defense they hadn't played when their captain broke his leg.

 

I don't think that is an indictment of the entire season.

They are better than Washington State which Oregon only beat them by a TD. Funny how we haven't heard that on BSPN or any of the networks....

And its not just one game. its over and over again. Purdue, Syracuse, North Carolina, Navy. These teams stink. Why are ll of these game nail biters? Its getting really ****ing old.

You were biting your nails when played Purdue and Syracuse? Neither one of those games were ever really in question. Maybe you shouldn't be so weak minded.

I'd like to hear what Storm's preseason expectations were. Seems like this guy went from chicken little to getting drunk off the Kool-Aid and now is pissed when a reality check happens. This team is young and has a ton of upside. I was so frustrated watching the game but settled down once I realized how they were a few shots to the feet short of a thorough beat down of Navy. I also never felt like the game was in jeopardy.

Exactly this! Great post. Never scared. Never worried. My girlfriend said you know they are going to win. Why get mad? I said, I know they'll win but anything less of a blowout will drop them in the polls.

That goes both ways. Reynolds dropped a halfback pass that would have been a big gainer and ND completely blew coverage on a separate play that may have been a touchdown had Trumbetti? not gotten a hand on Reynolds at the last second.

FSU is the #2 team in the nation and they nearly lose every week. Most weeks, they stage furious comebacks to escape the jaws of defeat at the last moment. But in the end, it's the W-L columns that matter. There are a whole lot of teams out there with two losses, and whether we're crushing teams or not, we're good enough to close out games. Sometimes, that's just gotta be enough.

Just win!! If you are trying to say they are not very good because they play crappy teams close, then how do you explain the loss errr screw job at Florida St. They proved they can play with good teams. They have just tended to play to their competition.
