I'm watching Florida State/Miami and thinking: what if we had Booker in the backfield with Walker, and then Olsen at tight end?

And how does this pertain to recruiting?

Because we almost did (have them both, I mean). In fact, Olsen was actually on campus and then we lost him. And, if I recall, Booker was as good as ours and then we lost him. You gotta like the fact that Coach Weis follows through with his recruits. I don't think we'll be losing many recruits at the last second. If they don't like Notre Dame or its coach they'll be flushed out right away. And if they do, our coach will wrap them up and deliver personally. Just like UPS, baby.

Woulda , coulda, shoulda! We dance with who brought us!

Also watching the game on ESPN 360 - Olsen is a good tight end, hand a great one-hander in the first half, but I'm pretty happy with Carlson, Freeman, and the frosh. Happy not to have Booker the way he's playing tonight - he danced behind holes that Walker or even TT would have hit.

Y'all need some serious work on your vocab.

In your words, "wooda, kooda, shoeda." I call it "imagination."

You teach math? It became clear with your spelling! LOL LOL    Just giving you a hard time! I'm married to a teacher. She has a hard time with quasi medical sarcastic humor. Tremendous gifts at christmas though! Teachers have it made!

I'm just pulling your leg two. ("two" -- get it?)

I'm going to have to talk to your wife about those Christmas presents. I get a few, but nothing to make up for the 20 K I gave up by leaving my engineering job.

Well at least once you receive "tenure" your drinking problem isn't quite the "problem" that it would have been in engineering!

drinking problem who has a drinking problem :drunk: :drunk: :drunk: :drunk: :drunk: :drunk: :drunk: :drunk: :drunk: :drunk: :drunk: :drunk: :drunk: :drunk: :drunk: :drunk: :drunk: :drunk: :drunk: :drunk: :drunk: :drunk: :drunk: :drunk: :drunk: :drunk: :drunk: :drunk: :drunk: :drunk: :drunk: :drunk: :drunk: :drunk: :drunk:

Speaking of Booker, he almost looked like he didn't know what to do w/ the open field on that long pass in the second half. Pretty surprising for a 5th year guy who was #1 recruit in the nation a few years back.

Since I work for Aflac & see the opportunity for a trivia question, how about an Aflac trivia question: Who were the #1 recruits 2002-2006 and how have they done in college thus far. *Quack*

Irishwave a toughie???? I erased them all. Lemmie see? Mitch Mustain was HIGH and will start for Ark next week, WEST of course. :D I think Mustains ass is grass. Sort of like most here feel JC can waltz in and win instantly 2007. Ain't a gonna happen

2002: Vince Young (#2 Haloti Nata)

2003: Ernie Sims (#2 Reggie Bush)

2004: Adrian Peterson (#2 Ted Ginn Jr.)

2005: Derrick Williams (#2 Patrick Turner)

2006: Percy Harvin (#2 Andre Smith)

2007: Jimmy Clausen (#2 Marvin Austin)

Young, Nata, Sims, Bush all first round picks, top of the first round i might add

Peterson and Ginn both top 10 picks

Williams and Turner project to be top picks

Its early on Harvin and Smith, but I can say Smith is as good if not better than Young, and should be a monster, its early on those guys

what do I win?

Our deepest gratitude and kudos.

TD We need a tradition here. how about a brass acorn? Symbolizing a "nut" that grows into a gigantic Oak tree that squirrels climb and jump on?

Our deepest gratitude and kudos.

does anyone else love Kudos bars? :D

I am going with Fig Newtons on this one...I would say you've won a cookie, but it's not a cookie...It's a fig newton.

Sweet!

what if we had Booker in the backfield with Walker, and then Olsen at tight end?

it would be great to have those two but i would rather have the FSU defense.

Oo-ee, gooey, rich and chewy inside.

Golden, flaky, tender cakey outside.

Wrap the inside in the outside -- Is it good? Darn Tootin'!

Doin' the Big FIG NEWTON (here's the tricky part), the big FIG NEWTON (one more time!), the BIG FIG NEWTONNNNN!

haha, I love them

And, theorectically, if Willingham was a good recruiter but equal as a coach, we wouldn't have fired him. The talent around him would have carried him far enough.

Dudes, the only reason I eat Fig Newtons is because I have to: I run marathons and it's a barely adequate substitute for chocolate chip cookies. Even soaked in milk, they don't compare to Chips Ahoys or Matt's.

Back to recruiting, the job that Coach Weis has done is incredible. It is obvious that he is not as big of a jerk as some of these writers make him out to be. If he were, no way these athletes would all be considering ND.
