whew! just a stinger.

given what he's done since then, i think he needs a stinger from zibby b4 every game

DWalk looked great. Thankfully, we didn't have any other major injuries. Rhema played well minus the drop on 3rd down. And the DBs played fairly well. On the other hand, as a whole, the team looked average at best!

DWalk needs to hit the holes or he won't even make it out of training camp in the NFL! Glimpses of greatness. Cheap shot on him in 2nd Q. He'll be sore as all get out with numbness in that left arm tonight and the morning.

Walker needs a complement quickly...I hope we get to see some of the froshies play. TT is not the answer to complement Walker...He runs with his feet too close together and comes down too easily. I like Travis as a fill in, but in a game situation where you need your 1's in, we need the power runner walker and the scat back prince or somebody with some freaking speed that can burn through the holes.

I am very glad we had Walker for tonight's game. His strength was perfect against GT, even though he did make a couple of bad reads and then made too many moves like Chiro said. One move and go!

Rust, though...I think he will be fine.

you will see munir get carries from here on out, he didnt want to risk a fumble in a tight game, he got him game experiencce next week he will get carries

bottom line is that you must run the ball. period. any defense is going to chew on a unidimensional team. once nd started to run the ball, the passing game became more effective in the 2nd half.

Dwalker won the game for ND last night. Guts, grit, determination and speed. I don't remember who said he wouldn't make it out of training camp in the NFL but you didn't see the same game as I did. He was the reason the offense opened up in the second half and the final drive of the first. On the last drive of the game he got a few first downs and good runs to seal the deal for ND. I'm new to these sites, all of em, but I see a thread through all of em...tear DW apart. Last night he was the man. TT wasn't shabby in his few carries either. I would have liked to see Prince carry the ball a few times, but I was thanking GOD that Darius Walker was on our team.

Welcome ctsub.

i agree ctsubalum, last night Darius did the job for us....i also just figured out this morning he won us the game! we would have missed the FG attempt :) with Goia, but Darius scored the TD for us that put us up for good. and he was/is tough

CT, I'm with you on the DW talk.

Any negative DW talk is simply ridiculous. He was a huge part of our victory. As far as him and NFL, IMO he is a very similar type of back to Emmit. Clarify, he won't be Emmit. But he'll do just fine.

Darius did a great job, and he was clearly a difference-maker. But give the OL some major credit, too. Against a very tough GT team that was blitzing them like crazy, our OL was protecting Brady and opening big holes for Darius. Without the OL play coming together the 2nd half, it would have been a different game.

Weis and Latina will make sure the penalties and mental mistakes decrease. This OL is going to allow us to run and pass, and with CW calling the plays, we have to feel VERY good about the remainder of the season.

Dave

welcome Dave, i agree, although in the first quarter the o-line wasnt great, they really did well the rest of the game

Throughout the game I just remember thinking to myself.. man we really need a back who will just pound the ball..

I guess I was getting tired of seeing Darius hesitate and dance around

But at the end of the night I realized that we would have lost had it not been for him

It just did not register to me how good of a game he had until it was over
