The way ND has handled this really is too bad. It's truly unfortunate that they have dragged these players along like this....whether they are guilty or not....

Why is a detail oriented, thorough process a negative?

Agreed. Show due process, cover your butt, and keep the vultures from the NCAA away to avoid sanctions down the road.

I agree. This is Notre Dame, not the SEC. A lot of fans are looking at this with their rah-rah glasses on. Sorry Davaris, but you obviously did something that is considered pretty serious for this to be happening.

I think the issue revolves around just how long it reasonably takes to complete a detail oriented, thorough process - something that is perfectly acceptable if completed expeditiously can certainly turn negative at some point. And for some, including me, this is that point.

I disagree. They didn't commit a crime. They freakin' cheated. Something of this nature should not take this long. Get it taken care of and move on. If they are guilty, let them know what their choices are so they can decide if they want to transfer or stay. If they are not guilty, let them move on and and play.

This is kinda the way I'm leaning on this issue as well.

I understand the need to have a thorough process and while during week 3 and 4 I was giving ND the benefit of the doubt that we needed to check all boxes so the NCAA wouldn't see the need to get involved, but this is RIDICulous.

There are homicides that were solved in 25% of the time with the killer atlarge.

We look like a bunch of jokers now.

Due process requires timeliness as well, which is questionable here

Just because we don't understand why doesn't mean there is an issue of timeliness or length of investugation here. Sorry boys and girls

If a kid is punished and doesn't like it he can sue and say he didn't have due process.

The media can say ND treats players different.

They need to fix the process.

It also doesn't mean that there isn't an issue of timeliness or length of investigation. Sorry, PT....

Let's face it, the University looks pretty bad at this point. The players all look guilty and I have no faith in this process. It has been handled incorrectly from the start. Everyone knows the evidence and it appears as if these boys are going to be railroaded out of town. I'd be shocked if they don't make an announcement until the season is over now. The kicker? Will the guys even get credit for this semester? If not, then I'd have a lawsuit. They're stringing them along now.

Absolutely, these kids were involved in something.

The University has to show the football program who runs this bitch. Hopefully the players sue and ND establishes a Student Blll Of Rights.

It is my opinion that Davaris is a bit of a villain. While he is without doubt a talented football player, he is also someone who seems to skate along the periphery of acceptable student behavior. He has now twice cast shadows on the respectability of the University and, in that sense, is a bit of a villain. I doubt many people who post on DomerDomain have, in their entire lives, done things either publicly or privately that made Notre Dame look bad.

That may be the case. However, there is no excuse for the delay - I'm sorry, this university continues to find ways to **** people off - me included.

Amateur handling.

Without the football program, Notre Dame would not be the same. It would just be a private Catholic school (just like the rest of them) with solid academics that would be very hard and very expensive to attend.
