Stomped Texas, beat a solid Houston team

It's a shame we don't have them on our schedule anymore

I just felt that two good Independent teams playing each other would be awesome

They don't look good.

Can't beat ranked teams.

Houston and Texas not good.

You hear that, Franco? They DON'T look good.. and don't you forget it :-).

They have beat the same amount of ranked teams as Notre Dame...

Though I agree with PT on Houston and Texas being less than stellar, I was kind of shocked to see that Houston leads the NCAA in total yardage since 2006 (I think....I know it was over several years, and Houston has like 55k yards over that time...might be longer).

I do think BYU looks good though, the scenery is worth visiting....oh, the football team....well, they don't look half bad either :-)

Coincides with the Sumlin/Keenum era.

That #3 kid for Houston looks like he woulda fit in well with the ND receiving corps. :-?

Only if he could've managed the academics. His cousin seemed to have issues with that.

Yeah, the eyeball test is only for people who spend time in the film room with the coaches.

I have no desire to go to any stadium where you can't properly tailgate (i.e., no booze).

And BYU plays utterly nobody.

HAH, I should mention that I'm basing this only on Taysom Hill

no booze is a good point

BYU is a decent team, but they should win 11 games if not go undefeated based on their schedule. However, BYU will find some way to screw it up.

I agree they look like a team that will make a run this year at an undefeated season with that schedule. And PT why is that necessary?

This year marks thirty years since BYU's one and only national championship which was a farce. They went undefeated against a horrible schedule and, if I recall correctly, didn't beat a team with a winning record.

BYU is a very average team, maybe above average but I would not call them a good team. You saw Rees and Co. beat them fairly easy last year well just imagine what this years team would do to them. I really think the years of us playing teams below us close are done. We got our type of QB now and no more bend but don't break defense, we might have the odd scare or two every year like most top teams.

On that note BYU, Texas, and Houston would all get beaten soundly by this years ND team. You can see we are loaded with talent and speed, plus not having the conservative gameplans let's these athletes run wild.

I have never seen team speed like we have this year and the talent, those teams listed are all second or third tier teams.

Hopefully those odd scares are against teams like North Carolina and Louisville instead of Purdue and Tulsa.

It seems like they're really trying to correct that, but just can't make it into better schedules. The SEC considering them as not part of the Big 5 like they do ND for scheduling purposes hurt. They pretty much scheduled a Mountain West kind of schedule, but with Texas and Virginia added in. It's not an awful schedule, and I think they're at least trying to schedule big boys.

And had to play a 6-5 Michigan team in their bowl game that year, too. There's an argument that Washington should have won the championship that year, but the fact that BYU absolutely spanked them the next year kind of cleared it up.

Michigan, once again, responsible for an iffy national championship. Can that just be their legacy?

You guys want to talk about iffy Championships? Look no further than Alabama, I think they only have like 4-5 legit championships, most of them recently.

Yeah. They probably would play us in South Bend for the next 20 years. They are hurting for cash, which is why they played us back to back years in SB.
