Finally the Ravens get it. Nothing like video of a 230 lb man knocking out a woman to wrap things up.

Here's what I find disturbing: How can it be that the NFL did NOT see this video? TMZ got it. And the NFL was working with law enforcement and requested all video. And they didn't get THIS???

If Goodell or someone else is lying, they're gone.

Goodell already admitted to owners that he got this one wrong...my guess is they were fully aware of this other camera angle...

You've got to wonder if he had been cut prior to them getting married, would she have still married him? That paycheck is gone! I'm just saying maybe she stayed just because she knew money was coming in and she was going to get "paid" for the incident.

They knew about the tape but had not seen it...lol..at least that's what the league said.

Dude lost alot of $$$$$

Admitting to getting it wrong and denying they saw this video are two different things, if in fact they did see it. Again, it strains the limits of believability that they didn't see it. If someone comes forward and said they saw it, Goodell is gone.

Ray Rice told the Ravens and the NFL a different story than this tape revealed.

In essence, he was lying about it as well, which doesn't show remorse for what he did.

Ray Rice will play in the NFL again though. Even Michael Vick got a second chance.

Mr. Rice,

The Raiders are holding for you on line 1

I don't think so.

The video forced the league to get this right, finally.

He's also physically washed up.

They will have to fight the Bengals for him. No team gives guys a second chance (and third and forth) like the Bengals.

Speaking of Vick.........how ironic would it have been if the Cleveland Clowns got him? Wonder how the "dawg pound" would have received him.......

Agree. He's done

27 years old and already believed to be on the decline.

Will never play again

They'd fight to the death for him...

In all honesty I don't see why his punishment was changed... What did people think happened in the elevator. Seems to me the video, while disturbing, shows exactly what we all already knew happened in there..

She came at him but he over reacted given his strength...

Kinda like the Fergeson police.

I'm not defending Rice but your job shouldn't punish a person more severely then the law. If I get a 100.00 speeding ticket, my employer shouldn't fine me 200.00.

I don't watch NFL that closely and don't know what Rice has left but it's just like a kid in college getting kicked off the team for stealing or whatever, they'll be another team believing he learned his lesson.

This is all PR, if Tony Dorsett did this to his wife in an elevator before all of the social media and back when ESPN killed time by showing women in leotards exercising instead of an insane amount of sports talk, this would not be a story. And Dallas would not have cut him. The NFL and the Teams hand got forced by all the media attention. IMO

all about image though and public perception. the comoany he works for can do whatever it wants. he represents the ravens and the nfl.

I know the company can do what they want. The question is did they want to do it or were they forced to because of the attention? I remember a few years back when urban Meyers was at florida. One of his player did something to an opposing player in a pileup. Urban gave him a 1 half suspension. He eventually had to increase it due to all the commentary from talk radio, social media, and the ESPN talking heads.

If you worked anywhere that gave a damn and there was a video out there of you punching a woman you would get fired. :faint:

Correct. Like it or not, image and perception matter.

It's a very public business with a lot of female fans. Let this slide or stand as a 2-game suspension and you'll have womens' groups picketing every game and advertisers leaving in droves.

Like someone else said, the video added little to my outrage. When I heard months ago that an NFL player knocked out his wife, I wanted to vomit. I wanted to vomit again when he put his wife on the podium and had her take part of the blame. Disgusting individual. Needs to go get a real job. Good luck with that.

That's not true. If there was no media outrage. you let the law dole out the punishment.
