Sad

I consider Michigan our 2nd most important rivalry of all time. It has both local and national importance and implications. There's a reason there are famous sayings such as Muck Fichigan and so on. We don't have those for the likes of Purdue, Mich. State and there's a reason for that.

Disappointed

One of the greatest rivalries in college football with the 2 best fight songs.

Happy

Fact is ND canceling this series hurts Michigan. UM won't find an opponent that gives them the national spotlight early in the season like ND. They'll play yet another noon game against a team like Indiana that know cares to talk about or mention outside ESPNs bottom line. ND will find a nice filler against a more favorable opponent and play it on national television.

Anytime ND can put it to UM I am happy and ND canceling this series is really sticking it to em!

Delighted. Muck fichigan.

The series will come back. It will be amped up and we will hate those bastards again. Michigan has given me enough ulcers over the past few years to last a lifetime. The time is now to have new challenges and rivals. I look forward to the new teams that will take the place of Michigan.

Overjoyed. We have already replaced them on our schedule with Texas and Georgia, both steps up in my opinion. Who are they going to replace us with? That extra Big 10 game against Indiana or Illinois? Or another grueling OOC game against App State? Anything we can do to hurt Michigan's football team is OK with me.

Pleased.

Nothing good comes from this rivalry. If we win, the B1G is overrated. If we lose, we are overrated.

sad.

I cant believe any of you would be happy about this. This game has been great for so many years and has been a good indicator as to how good the team is right at the beginning of the season. This is a great rivalry that is fun to watch and has amazing TV ratings which is great for both Notre Dame and Michigan.

Pleased.

I agree with this. I think it is one heck of a rivalry, but I'm not sure it ever helps ND. Furthermore, I second the whole ulcer thing.

I HATE Michigan

oh wait...I did it wrong

Thanks, I'm now wiping Molson Ice off of my laptop. It's amazing how foamy it gets shooting out your nose! LOL!!

"Thankful" is my answer.

Well, I think playing Texas or Georgia will tell us who we are early in the year as well. And it does hurt them, so its a good thing. They possibly lose a Nationally televised game and no matter what, we are on NBC, ABC or ESPN and probably under the lights. They aren't guaranteed that at all.

I wish ND would have announced a 3:30 game for this one just to really **** em off and show them that they don't mean squat to us.

Bingo. :clap::clap2:

Bummed

The greatest seasons in most of our Notre Dame fanhoods began with a win over Michigan and and either ended with a win over USC or received a significant boast by an October victory over the Trojans.

You beat those two, you were in line for a great season.

But if you lost one or the other or both.....sucksville

You despised and revered those rivalries for the very reasons all of our stomachs are churning this week.

Like em or not, hate em or whatever. But Michigan and USC have meant a hell of a lot to us over the years, one way or another.

There aren't two other weeks on ND's schedule even close those Michigan and USC weeks.

And it kinda sucks one is being taken away.
