My source isn't a domer but he has worked out with Louis Nix among others so he told me about the samething. It just seems like we are playing the waiting game. Although, I think 1 may not be clear....

Not sure and we may never know. From what I've gathered, it may be a "lack of evidence" sort of deal.

 

If they are cleared already or today, I see no reason why they couldn't suit up tomorrow, since you know, they made it clear it wasn't a "football thing".

All of this is too weird. If they play tomorrow, are we to believe that the investigation, which I'm fine with, just happened to be concluded a few days before game day? I think fans and haters alike would question that.

Cleared doesn't necessarily mean innocent. There may have been some evidence of wrong doing. In my mind cleared means that the punishment has been rendered or not and that they are clear to rejoin football activities. Based on what Kelly said regarding this going through the honor code process, my guess is that there was some type of punishment similar to the following:

 

1. Failed the paper and/or the class.

2. Time served away from the football team.

3. Both 1 and 2 above.

 

In any of those cases, the incident could be closed and they could return to the football team.

 

As I said, that would mean there was some guilt, something was found, they weren't innocent but they are now cleared without further disciplinary action to return to football.

 

That's just an educated guess assuming the current rumors are accurate.

Cleared means editing of papers happened but does not mean it reached the level of documneted cheating. Being a typist or providing edits to someone elses work for example can be construed as cheating and vis versa. The rules for help and editing will be clarified in the future for the players.
