Hey guys, my first thread. can you believe it?

 

I wanted to try to keep a level head here and try to make a big point.

 

The ND football team is not cheating. They weren't aware of this until July 29, 2014.

 

This involves four players. There is still an entire team and program.

and we don't know without a shadow of a doubt these players are fully guilty or what the parameters of what any of this is. We will soon enough.

 

I believe the gentleman on here "FaithinIrishForever" made a great point about not feeding into speculation based on opinions we have, even if we don't really have first hand experience with school at ND.

 

If it is found Notre Dame and BK KNOWINGLY played ineligible players, it is a different story. But the ND football team is NOT CHEATING to get ahead.

 

Remember OSU. Tressel tried to cover it up and played the guys even though they did something against the rules. That is scandal and coverup. the coach KNOWINGLY cheated and got fired for it and all his lying.

You're totally right. I am not ashamed of our program for the actions of a few. However, ESPN really wants to pound ND into the dirt by calling it a "scandal." A scandal involves cover up starting at the top. This is just stupidity on the part of our players. It is going to hurt ND on the field. You don't lose your best WR, All-American CB, and starting DE without a dip in play. Does it mean they'll lose games bc of this? I don't know. I do not believe it's nearly as devastating as losing Golson for all of last year.

The whole scandal thing is bothering me. Media outlets have to make this something it isn't. And on top of that, people are just stupid.

This whole thing is BS, IMO. We all know that players cheat academically at some point in their career.

 

We set these guys up with tutors to walk them through their coursework. These tutors can tell them what they should or shouldn't write, but they cannot submit work on their behalf.

 

I want to wrap this up so we can kick these guys out of school if in fact they did cheat and expedite the investigation so we don't have this investigation looming over our heads heading into the football season.

 

Loose lips sink ships, and we need to choose better tutors for our players. Our tutors should be athletic only tutors.

 

Am I the only one that is thinking their was some form of extortion involved which is why non athletes received improper academic benefits as a result of a threat to STFU?

PT returning under multiple screen names really illustrate why he has so much trouble on this board. He somehow thinks he's so much smarter then everyone else here but the reality is we see right through his antics. His belief in what he sees as his superior cleverness prevents him from noticing when he crosses the line.

There was a Notre Dame message board that imploded a few years ago because 1 poster had a ton of accounts...I think the nut spent all day commenting with all the different screen names.
