I thought it may be a good idea to have a thread tracking UND players in the NFL. I'll primarily track their statistics on a weekly basis and try to keep up with any news I come across.

I don't usually hit the PC until the wee hours so feel free to post anything you hear that may be of interest or anything that I may have missed.

This first post will have everyone currently on an NFL roster by team and where they currently stand on their team's depth chart. A couple of teams haven't released depth charts yet, which is fairly common this early in the preseason. Anyone with "Other" next to their names are below third team, generally accompanied by a couple of other players.

I-Con, this is a great idea. Thanks for taking the time.

Very impressive list.

thanks for putting this together.

was nice to see D Flem on the Pats, I believe he started.

Anyone have an update on Ian Williams?

Next, stats from NFL preseason week one.

I really hope Wood can crack the roster for the Ravens. With the Rice situation and Pierce just not being good, Wood needs to capitalize on this opportunity. Unfortunately, I doubt he will.

Bad news out of Raven's camp. Achille's injury. Lost for the season. Bummer.

Scotty, I missed it but Ian Williams has been on the PUP list since mid-July. Evidently he expects to come off the list at some point in camp. I found this blurb from a few days ago:

Nose tackle Ian Williams was evaluated on the turf practice field by general manager Trent Baalke and the team's head doctor and strength coach. Williams did a couple of sled drills, the same ones the defensive line do during warmups. Williams punched a few of the bags and moved down the line, showing his stance and acceleration to demonstrate his health status for the 49ers brass.

The 49ers have not specified where Williams is with his rehab timeline. He has been doing a lot of work, but we don't know if he is a day away, a week away, or what. Without knowing how the team officials assessed Williams's performance in these drills, we can't tell what it means. But, I figured it was at least worth sharing.

Having notable officials assessing Williams would hopefully be a positive, indicating he is getting close to a return. If he was further away from getting back, maybe those officials are not checking him out on these drills. Ideally he gets activated off the PUP list before the 49ers second preseason game. Maybe he would not play in that game, but if they can get him back in game action by Week 3, then he probably would be close to ready to dive back in.

thank you I_C!

Consider me a huge fan of Ian's, really hoping he gets back to health and in the line up. This is a kid who definitely deserves success.

Does anyone else get the feeling that Golden Tate is kind of a douche?

I am not passing judgement or anything. I was sitting in a restaurant one time listening to an ND alum prattle on about something and she started talking badly on GT and I thought she was just a bit stuck up, but the more I watch him the more it seems like she might be right.

Maybe not, but watching him play in the NFL he looks a bit overzealous.

Anyone?

Anyone?

I think he is very confident, but I also think he gets a bad rap for his one taunting play and his comments after the TD catch against the Packers. There was also the silly rumor about hooking up with Russell Wilson's wife.

Faith, that's completely fine with me. Any contributions are welcome.

Cool..

Did you all know? Besides TE U we might be "long snapper U"? Congrats to J.J. Jansen of the Panthers who played for ND in Weis' two good years. Guy has had a 7 year NFL career and counting.

That was the only name on the list I had to look up! Again, well done

A lot of times, the long snapper is also a TE so JJ helps continue the TE U legacy as well...

In addition to everything you mentioned he also went to the Pro Bowl last years as the NFC Long Snapper!!

I'm not seeing Stephon Tuitt. Looks like he'll play a lot, LeBeau made some comments that he is too good to keep off the field.

As a Steeler fan, I'm excited to watch him at the next level.

KWill, I copied my list of players by school from BSPN and evidently he wasn't on it for some reason. Good catch, I'm surprised I didn't notice. He's currently listed as the 2nd team LDE.

I added BQ belatedly, I couldn't connect with the site earlier.

LVIrish, they're on the original/master list. The second list is statistics from the first preseason game. Nix is on the PUP list and Jackson didn't register any statistics if he played, so they aren't included there.
