Great interview. He seems to have matured, and sometimes a kick in the butt like this is an eye opening experience that some kids need. I think he will use this experience to grow as a player, and most importantly as a person. I think a lot of football players face adversity like this, but most don't choose the right path back and continue to fall down.

Looks like sincere reflection has him thinking quite clearly about where he is going now----I don't anticipate any more academic problems for Everett.

He does look noticeably THICKER---and I love that throwing motion.

Arrows all seem to be pointing up for EG

I don't like that he just wasn't totally honest and clear about what he did. I don't know if there's some reason why he couldn't say it, or he's just embarrassed or what.

I can't judge him for cheating on a test because I made an art form out of that in college. I can, however, be bummed out that a QB and team leader can't just say exactly what he did to let his team down.

Are you one of those people that stop at the scene of a crime and have to know what happen? Don't be such a demanding voyeur. It's none of our business. He doesn't owe anyone except his parents, teammates and coaches an explanation. All three of which I am sure he's explained exactly what occurred, but he owes us nothing as far as juicy details, this isn't TMZ...

You left out the administration to people he's accountable to...

Then why is he sitting down to do a video interview with a major outlet? There was no gun held to his head. He wanted to do this to get public opinion back on his side. If you're going to do a PR move like this, be a man and say what he did.

He absolutely does owe us juicy details *IF* he is going to have CNN fly down a camera crew and an interviewer to discuss what happened...which he did. Otherwise, don't waste everyone's time with this "Oh, I'm not going to say exactly what I did" bullshit.

It was pretty clear he cheated on a test, did you want him to explain exactly how he did it?

My "source" told me he had identical answers, both right and wrong, to another student on an accounting final exam. That was evidence enough for the professor to accuse him of cheating. Apparently, he didn't deny it.

I don't care how he did it.

The interviewer asked him over and over, point blank, to say if he cheated (which he did) and he wouldn't just say yes. It's not hard to answer a simple question -- especially when you invite a crew down to interview you about that situation. Don't waste everyone's time if you're not just going to answer the question they came down to ask.

Even though I would have wanted Golson to say what it was exactly, it didn't bother me as I'm sure he's ashamed of what he did and it's often hard to just come out and say it

Anyone else see that Golson got bigger? looking sturdy

Andy Staples is SI bro. Saying "Inviting CNN" is like saying doing a sideline chat with John Clayton represents ABC news... And I'm sure Andy Staples asked for the interview to sell magazines, not the other way around. This video came out before tomorrow's SI hits newsstands with the full story.

Asking for more from this kid just makes you come off like a voyeur, he's still in college, he's not getting paid to answer some random fans every question. Not a good look. Cool your jets there Barbara Walters. He's 20 years old for god sake.

Yes he looks thicker--the scuttlebutt over on IE was that he added 10 pounds of muscle---as I look at him in the video that rings very true , from legs to shoulders he looks thicker.--

What cheat he exactly did is of NO INTEREST to me--he was plenty clear on what went wrong.

"My heart was set on going back to Notre Dame.. Not necessarily to prove to anybody.. Really, just doing it for me.. I felt like, that's something that I started and I didn't want to run from it and go to a Juco or go to another school.. I was gonna face it. "

In a word : sh!tchya!

From watching that video, I can see it already.

National title game, 4th quarter, down 4, 3 seconds to play, ball on the 14.

The opponent's DL pulls a Chong Li and blinds Golson, literally. But instead of leaving the game, he remembers the time he threw blindfolded in Cali with George Whitfield and hits Ben Koyack for a game winning TD.

So you're in the camp that thinks he will transfer to a different school? :)
