Parseghians theorem 0
Nebraska is out. South Carolina SHOULD fall out with THREE losses Oregon St. SHOULD lose to Stanford. ND only losses to 2 top 20 teams. and beat a michigan st. team that will also move into rankings. I believe we should jump ASU. What do you guys think will happen (not that being ranked No. 25 matters).
brian_nd88 106
who else is on the outside looking in besides asu? isn't michigan unranked? i don't think we're getting ranked ahead of them. how far will virginia tech fall after losing to duke? is duke going to jump into the top 25? KamaraPolice 0
I agree but it looks like Michigan state moves in. Oregon state lost to a good fcs team in eastern Washington, but has looked better on defense of late and still has a good passing offense. Stanford should win, but it's why we play the games. Could get interesting tonight. I didn't think ucla would hang around either.

NDhoosier 1,339
I still think ND will be ranked, especially if Oregon State loses tonight. Virginia Tech should fall out of the top 25 for getting beat by Duke at home Nebraska lost Wasnt ND like 27 in votes? That means they only have 2 spots to climb. However, all this does not mean much because it will be 23rd-25th, but if ND wins out, they will be where we want them to be and be invited to a BCS bowl game. roarcity269 0
Convincing performances the next few weeks and a W at Stanford puts us top 15 to close the season in my eyes.
Domer Dude 0
And Fresno St has the weakest schedule in the country the rest of the year.
OklahomaIrish 0
It was a good day yesterday. Upsets will continue over the next 5 weeks. Fresno should have lost and South Carolina was ever so luck to beat Mizzou. Not worried about the poll, but yes I think we move into the top 25. Stanford beating Oregon State was critical for us to get a BCS bid. Beating Stanford and BYU will not be easy but certainly is attainable. This is the fun part of the season. Let's stomp a mudhole in Navy and watch the dominoes fall.
ndmike88 141
AP poll just came out...ND in 26th. 1 point behind ASU.
Fifth Horseman 0
Ranked 25th in the coaches poll. Should also be noted that we're behind MSU. Whew I could unleash a string of curse words right now. In all honesty I have a hard time seeing us get into a BCS game unless we run the table. Losing even one more game pretty much assures me that we won't be able to crack #20 due to how little movement we've had even when we do win. The only teams who I think could realistically beat us would be BYU (who, assuming we win the next two, I'm guessing we'll be around 20th) and Stanford (assuming we win the next three, we may get as high as 18th or 19th). Assuming we're around 20, a loss to BYU would drop us from the rankings again, and beating Stanford wouldn't do a damn thing to get us near where we need to be, and a loss to Stanford the last game of the season would be too late for us to make up any ground. In all honesty, I have a hard time seeing the BCS as a realistic possibility given our current ranking. Good point, though I would argue that MSU hasn't played any other decent teams (aside from us). MSU has one loss to an unranked team (us), whereas we have two losses to teams ranked in the top 25. I get the point your making, but it's still frustrating to me.
hawaiiirish 62
25 in the coaches--26 in the USA---its annoying ( especially the ASU thing) but not really meaningful 25 26--you say tomaetoe I say tamatoe--- we have always HAD to finish 10-2 to have a shot at BCS--- And to be frank I would be so shocked and surprised If we finished 10-2, I really could care less about getting into the weakest BCS bowl in the last year of a dead system---sure the school gets money which is nice---but I would just as soon take what would be a STUNNING shot at 11 wins then be an also ran in dead system walking. That said --I think its unlikely we go 10-2 anyhow ---yes we looked great against AF but then.....it is what it is I am thankful for every win and simply DO NOT see the competition for the #14 spot as meaning much in this final year of a rather pointless system---title game counts--after that ......not really aloha's
moostache 0
In years when ND does NOT play in a bowl game I give even less than a **** about ALL bowls games...at least in years where ND plays in a bowl I will pay passing attention to the rest of the muck. If we do not make a bowl game (which I really do believe its BCS or bust for this year...does anyone see us really playing in DETROIT for the Pizza Bowl against a MAC team one year removed from the BCS tilte game??? we'd NEVER hear the end of it from the addle-minded glue sniffers and dentally challenged SEC fans...to say nothing of their equally addle-minded mentally challenged Michigan relatives!) I think this team has a chance to go to Stanford with everything on the line - BCS play-in game essentially, good practice for a run at the REAL playoff in 2014-2015 season... As for the polls, the people voting ASU above ND should face mandatory random drug testing... Edited October 27, 2013 by moostache
