DAMN!! Article says he could have seen significant playing time yesterday with Arian Foster hurt. Hopefully it is a life lesson.

Foster AND Tate got hurt (although Tate eventually came back in) so he definitely would have gotten some PT.

Who knows why but what a stupid move by him. He works his *** off to make the team as an undrafted rookie and screws it up.

He looked really good in the preseason so hopefully he gets picked up, if not lesson learned.

Man, he was in line to be the starting RB this week. Foster is out with a hamstring injury and Tate broke 4 ribs Sunday.

Very sad! He left ND to make the bucks to support his new family and he does this? Guess he did not learn much at ND about how to be a values-based person.

I dont know all the details.... but I have to say that this does not surpise me. I hope he gets another chance, but Mr Wood is showing that there seems to be a pattern of poor choices that he will make. I know some of the people who coached him out here and matters of "judement" and " lack of toughness" plagued him. Maybe he will be better suited for keeping the drive through line moving. "That will be $8.25. Please pull up to the first window" .

This is posted about Wood on Rotoworld:

Updating a previous item, the Texans waived RB Cierre Wood, DE Sam Montgomery, and OLB Willie Jefferson for smoking marijuana at the team hotel in Kansas City.

Rotoworld's comment:

If true, these three couldn't possible be any dumber. The players contend they were simply smoking a cigar. Jefferson's agent, Chad Cannon, is considering filing a grievance on the players' behalf.

As Texans OLB Brooks Reed notes, the three rookies "just kind of threw the opportunity of their lives away."

Amen to that!

Terrible decision making. Unbelievable. Not only did this cost him a chance with the Texans but maybe ANY NFL opportunity. The Montgomery kid was a recent 3rd rounder. Houston has had a very rough season and is not messing around, at all anymore, evidently.
