Good news for 'Tha U' and terrible news for ND. 'Tez has said from the very beginning that they were his "dream school". It's a long way from LOI day, but this is definitely not good good news for the Irish.

I'd say ND, Illinois, and Miami will be the teams to beat with ND and Illinois out in front at the time being. Wilson was very excited about this new offer and said that he feels alot better now that he has it. He went on about how Miami is his dream school and how relieved he is about his offer. I hope we did'nt come into it too late.

BTW, he also talked about taking his final visit to Miami.

IMO we lose tez.

it he will set his fifth and final visit, but it will not be his last visit

he will likely visit miami for a game during the season, thats what im hearing

to be honest, i think this is more of a yea they want me kind of thing, i reallyu don't think he leaves and goes to miami, i still think this is a illini, ND battle, and i do not think we lose him

I hope Miamia is too late.

I also hope Hughes doesn't get a Miami offer....that might be too much.

I hat to say that i called this about a month ago with the Willie Williams situation. Hughes will not get an offer, but i do not think that will stop Tez from committing to Miami. i doubt their friendship runs that deep. He has been so outspoken about Miami that whole time, he is theirs to lose. This pisses me off big time.

TD I agree with you. Just because the kid gets a new offer doesn't mean that his favorites all of the sudden change. They wee his dream school growing up that doesn't necessarily mean that they still are. Give Coker another year to underachieve and we'll see if he is even still there at the end of the season. I'm sure Minter and Weis will stay ontop of a big time guy like Tez and won't let him slip away.

I think that's a reasonable assessement. Depsite fans posting about a "package deal", everytime it was brought up Wilson reponded, it'd be nice to go to the same school together but we each have to do what's best for ourselves. Based upon his comments about Miami in the past, he's got to be Miami's to lose - right now.

The best thing for ND right now is for him to take his time and see how the teams and coaches perform.

IF Zook lives up to his coaching reputation (not recruiting reputation) the Illini win 2 or 3 games and that bubble bursts.

IF Coker goes back to dominating the state of - done deal.

But IF the Canes continue to slide, he may not be in Miami on NSD to receive a LOI.

IF Charlie's Fighting Irish improve the Defense and Special Teams along the lines of the improvement on Offense in '05, ND's a contenda, Zibby gets a title shot without stepping in the ring, and Tez wears Blue and Gold.

IMO we lose tez.

agreed.

im going the other way on this one

he has always been high on ND, and i think after visiting this season it will be sealed up

i like the idea of taking officials at the banquet, and i think both him and hughes end up at ND

TD, I have to agree with you, the banquet visit is a plus for us. I think he's gettin a feel for us now, with the unofficials he's taken, then he'll still keep thru out the yr gettin a feel on game day. At the banquet he'll get a different feel, a different vibe/setting for us, I think comin off the very successful and ZERO loss reg season, he'll be surrounded by guys who know they haven't won anything yet until Jan 8th gets here, and I think it'll just blow him away.

I see Tez walkin up to the table at the AA game and maybe do something that is not done often and just have 1 hat and one hat alone on the table, it'll be the one with the interlockin N & D

Any chance that Tez comes in for another unofficial visit for a game this season?? Man danger, is there any top prospect that you are confident we will land?

on the power hour Tez said he would try and visit for the Michigan of Penn St game.....but that was before his Miami offer so I dont know if that is still true.

I'm pretty sure that Tez's season opens up either this weekend or next at Soldier Field and that B&G is gonna have someone following it and they plan on linkin up with Tez and Hughes, so hopefully Tez drops some hints then

he will be here for a couple of unofficial visits for games

Hughes and Wilson both open their seasons on Saturday at Soldier Field. Steve Filer is playing as well. I'll be there to see all three games.

I don't see Wilson going to SC or Miami. Most people that are close to the situation that I have spoken with have said he probably isn't going to go too far away from home. ND, U of I or tOSU should be the front runners.

As for Hughes, if Illinois is going to the spread offense (they are) then Hughes is not going to be a very good fit in that offense.

  • 3 weeks later...

Per Scout Wilson says all is even...was impressed w/ ND on Sat, watched ND and SC, didn't bother tuning in to Illini game.

Thanks Scotty
