Parseghians theorem
The kid is for real, we are struggling to find an elite quaterback Reese is horrible Golson is good but not elite. We have Zaire and Golson. And we HAD Kiel, who was a TOP RATED QB. So we signed guys. Golson wasn't super highly rated, but is very solid talent. But don't just watch every game and think woe is us. Penn State lost to Indiana ... FOR REAL. p.s. I'm not big for spelling or knocking people for it on this board, but please, get the names right as much as you can. Rees has been here for four years. I do fully accept that mistakes happen though.
NYNDIRISH723
Jimmy Clausen was the #1 rated quarterback if I remember correctly and Golson was pretty good for a freshman.

dboe34
Yeah, why can't we sign a guy that can come in, learn his first year and then in his RS Fresh year take us to the NC? Even better, would be nice to see us land the number one recruit in the nation as a QB! Golson was plenty good to give us a chance at a NC game last year, GK transferred and may become elite. Rees and Hendrix were recruited before BK. There are very few "Elite" QB's out there if you consider "Elite" to be a top 20 pick. I am very happy with our QB recruiting so far. Just not very happy with the way those players worked out.

zemaniak
maybe Kelly & co can't develop QBs?..
marcwithglasses
maybe Kelly & co can't develop QBs?.. what do mean "maybe" until proven otherwise it's obvious BK can't hope Golson improves big time if he comes back in our heads he's Joe Montana but that's only because Rees is so bad
storm64
We have not had an elite college QB since Clausen, Golson is good but he's not elite and is not on our roster and may not be back.
Katzenboyer
Gunner Kiel. Dayne Crist. Jimmy Clausen. Not to mention four-stars Kizer and Zaire. Also worth pointing out that Hackenberg lost to UCF and IU this season.

After last season's end. Kelly had Golson, a NCG quarterback. Kelly had Kiel, a 5* QB who transfered. Both left the team in a matter of what? 90 days? Third string QB is left and a very talented freshman behind him, who will have four years left.
storm64
Hackenburg, Winston (FSU), and Bridgewater are elite quaterbacks we don't have anyone on our roster close to any of those three. When and if Golson comes back we will have a good but not elite quarterback. If Zaire is elite he would have passed our current QB on the depth chart in the spring. Hackeburg true freshman and lost to Indiana If we were playing Malik and lost to Indiana this ENTIRE BOARD would have the biggest **** fit in recorded history. Winston is a redshirt freshman playing on a roster that is literally littered with freshmen and sophomore and redshirt sophomore QBs. He is a STUD. Bridgewater is pretty talented. But didnt' look amazing against a Rutgers passing defense that is very porous. Golson can be elite, too. Oh, by the way, he helped get us to a NCG. Have the other three been there? Bridgewater never will (maybe hakenburg and winston)?
beach1
no we did not lose to IU. but we did lose to a lousy michigan team who got beat by a true freshman QB and whose teams best RB plays for USC and whose team is on restrictions. my frustation is why our freshmen who come in highly touted seldom play their freshman year yet other teams with frosh play them and they do quite well. no offense but if MZ is going to be soooo good for us in the future how could he not get playing time over a moderate QB like Rees? and if golson comes back MZ will sit the bench for 2 years unless there is an injury. So we lost to Michigan and OU. The touted freshman QB you all are currently ball-gargling lost to IU and UCF. Which losses look worse to you? We lost to Michigan on the road. It was a tough loss. Does it any way implicate the ND program? No. Some of you really need to stop starting stupid threads.
