Darrin Walls is looking very nice for the Jets tonight. Finally living up to his potential, I really thought he was going to be a stud for us, nice to see the kid getting some playing time and taking advantage in the NFL.

Did I hear right that they said during the broadcast that he was a practice squad player just called up? Regardless, he looked really impressive.

 

Typically, I hate the Jets and like Atlanta, but for some reason I was rooting for the Jets last night. I almost feel bad for Rex Ryan this season...

97domer, I believe he's been on the active roster from the beginning of the season. He's got two starts so far this season. Here we go:

I always thought Walls was a pretty good player, just wasn't as consistent as he could have been. I wonder if he'll get a chance to start somewhere next season as teams are seeing him impress.

 

He looks better than a majority of teams second corners.

I remember his first game lining up against Calvin Johnson at Notre Dame and he held his own. he was a solid corner at ND and it doesn't surprise me at all the he is succeeding in the NFL. Good for him!

I remember that game too and thinking he would be an all-american before leaving ND.

That is in my top 5 favorite ND moments of the last 20 years. Ndukwe hit Johnson so hard I think my TV actually fell over.

 

Anyone else just hoping that somehow BQ sees the light of day? He played well preseason, I thought with Filthy Sanchez out of the picture and Smith not playing lights out BQ might get a shot. Sadly... not likely.

I saw that he is third string, but I figured that with Smith out of the way he would be good to go. Either way, I think you are right. I wonder if he could make a go of it in the CFL or AFL and work his way back into the league. Lot of talent and character there.

I wouldn't mind if he came and played for the bombers. He'd start for sure because we're terrible and have noone else at qb but I doubt he'd come up north. It's a different game too with 12 men on the field and all the different rules.

 

In the last 3 years we've gone through Buck Pierce, Max Hall, Joey Elliott, and Alex Brink. I'm sure you've heard of a few of em, he'd be a huge upgrade.

Yeah, irishrb was wrong. D Walls lined up against Megatron as a true frosh when ND played at Ga Tech in 2006. I was at that game.

 

In 2007( D Walls sophomore year) , the ND home opener was against Ga Tech. The 2nd game was at Penn State. D Walls had a pick 6. He cought it at about the 30 and ran 70 yards down the sideline to score. I was at that game too.

yeah that stood out because I think that was the only lead we had until the UCLA game. man those were some depressing days, especially living in So Cal at the time.
