WeaverIrish 28
They barely run it at the start against USC..... Its gonna suck but Kelly got mad at GAIII you could tell, after George did his "I'm gonna try and make everyone miss" thing and lost yards Cam played a lot more, then when Cam did similar things then they threw it more. Now Kelly will be on anti-running back spree for awhile against USC. It will be sad.... Also where's Folston I saw him with a helmet on a few times so he was game ready.... but what is up with the lack of using the RB that was successful against Oklahoma. irishrb 0
BK is totally just #$@#@# me off by not using Folston. Seriously it's just wrong. He DESERVES to run the frickin' rock!
Island Domer 0
The backs played well , especially GAIII early. I just kept waiting and waiting for Folston, love this kid and think he can Really run the ball well. He is incredible IMHO. Get him more touches and he could be the best RB in America by hear three. Best freshman RB I can remember in a really long time.

My first thought is he hurt? but I saw him with a helmet so I doubt he's hurt. Folston has given us no reason to not want him on the field, going back to what i said, maybe Folston will get a majority of the carries against USC to make GAIII and Cam want to work harder to Run hard and not miss holes. S.B.IRISH 0
I saw him after the game and no he isn't hurt, my guess is he didn't play because GAIII and Cam both were running really hard. But I agree he should have gotten some carries yesterday. I also think they need to move Amir to slot since they don't get him in space out of the backfield
charlotteND 0
I'd bet Folston didn't play entirely due to blitz pickup. ASU was bringing extra guys on almost every play. Freshman RBs can make a difference running, but are rarely up to snuff in blitz pickup.

He's an amazing talent but until he has blitz pickup down, he's only going to be situational.
golson5 221
Folston should be getting carries. He needs to touch the football as a rb or slot
Parseghians theorem 0
Folston should be getting carries. He needs to touch the football as a rb or slot we dont know if he doesnt know blitz pacakages or not. if we bring him in and run everytime he is in, kinda of key to a run play, right? if he is in on pass plays too and doesnt know assignments wellmenough he could miss a block and tommy could get hi and fumble .... Irish_Convert 1
I want to see more of Folston as well but I agree that it's likely about blitz pickups, especially knowing how much ASU likes to blitz. The bye week should help the young guys become more acclimated to the playbook.

If there are major personnel moves to happen this year, they likely will happen through the bye week and into the USC game.

So when you know you will run, put him in. If you will pass, do a PA. There is not much to pass blocking on PA. Kelly is playing favorites. Plain and simple. Kelly Gruene 26
Kelly is playing favorites. Plain and simple. Yes, CBK is just a nice, soft-spoken, humble guy who only wants to play favorites. He doesn't care at all about winning games. He doesn't care about making a name for himself. He doesn't have an ego at all. Brian Kelly wants to keep the best players on the sidelines and only play guys he likes. CBK doesn't ever want to get another raise, and he wants to make ND his final coaching stop. He doesn't care what his legacy is. He just wants to play favorites. Yup, that's the image I have of Brian Kelly.

See my post in the "Gold Stars..." thread. Only the coaches who evaluate everything that needs to be evaluated can explain. Sorry, I'm not one of the coaches. Kelly Gruene 26
I am happy you are not the AD. Me too! I'm pretty happy with the AD that ND has right now! And based on the shiny new contract just put in place, apparently the AD thinks the current coach makes pretty good decisions on who gets playing time and how the players are used. Just sayin'.
