Zaire...For bragging rights

Based on Rees' and Hendrix's performance so far this season, I see no way Zaire redshirts. And, while we think Golson will be back, can we count on him coming back AND maintaining academic eligibility?

I think we see Zaire for the first time in the third quarter of the ASU game. What do you think? If you think Zaire plays this season, name the game and the quarter.

Let Hendrix play and try and run it down their throat.

The defensive play book is simple against us. They draw a 3 yard circle 5 yards in back of the center and say the qb is not going to step outside of there. Go get him.

Instead of creating a mismatch at times, running away from the threat, and have an extra guy down field we are forced to add blockers - every time they send extras.

I'll admit, I'm ready for Hendrix too, and I was very much NOT in favor of seeing him as the main man because of how tense and forced he looked every time I'd seen him take snaps, and I could only assume he didn't fair much better in practice since the staff just wouldn't let him sniff the field. BUT.....given how Tommy has looked the last 2 games (and now, I fear it may be more in his head than ever,) I think we have to go with Hendrix, start to finish. To be fair to the kid, what we haven't seen from him is an entire game's worth of work. Would it be just as bad as Tommy the last 2 weeks? Maybe, but how does anyone know - including the coaching staff - that he doesn't make us say, "Holy shite, yeah he made some mistakes, but damn!, overall, nice game."

Purdue calls on rookie Danny Etling!!

Hell if Purdue puts their QB in of the future....if things keep trending the way they are with us!!

MZ should get just thrown in their...what would we have to lose??

We've already lost two games and that won't be the end of it. We aren't playing in a BCS game so who cares whether we don't go to a bowl or if we play in one on dec 21st...

We are very much on the same mindset on this one! Let the young kids play and grow...start coaching them up and playing them up!

BCS or bust IMO!

Spoken like someone who don't have a dog in the fight.

losing is losing whether you play the young guys or the vets.

There are a lot of teams that are good somehow without having to sacrifice the previous seasons.

Not that I'm against MZ getting playing time but he only sees the field if TR or AH goes down. Shoot, maybe not even then. Kelly doesn't strike me as the type that doesn't stick to his guns.

I would love to see Zaire at some point this year for no other reason than to give him experience. I want to win games as much as anyone but we all know this season is likely a wash with 9-3 feeling like wishful thinking.

Next year, Rees is gone as well as Hendrix(Likely). We'll have Golson(Presumably), Zaire who will be green and Kizer. I mean, we could conceivably go into next season with Zaire and Kizer at QB. Best case scenario, we have Golson, Hendrix, Zaire and Kizer. Worst case scenario, we have Zaire and Kizer. To me, that's scary.
