Yep, next is the death of the NCAA as far as Football

College Football is going to make there own league

no they will not. university presidents wont agree to that.

NCAA is going to allow kids to go straight to the pros at all levels.

but no NFL team will draft kids out of HS.

college football is all about STUDENTS playing football.

schools are going to make money in football no matter who plays. 10 years from now ND will still bring in boatloads from football.

If the ncaa would start paying the kids they make millions off of, I could still play my favorite video game. Greedy bastards.

The universities own all rights to their athletic programs. stop blaming the NCAA. the universities make money off their own names. NOTRE DAME is the name that is on shirts. jerseys have numbers. it is up to you to associate who u want to that number.

kids decide to go to college. they are students. because they have a talent in their field, they get a talent scholarship.

when the NCAA removes the professional limit by allowing kids to be drafted right out of high school then no one is stopping them from going straight into the workforce.

people will watch ND football no matter who the player is.

there will be NO UNION of college football players. it would have to be all college athletes.

stop blaming all this on the NCAA. no one forces you to play football. AMERICANS want to watch football MORE THAN EVER. because of this TV comapnys pay big money for the rights to show the games.

there is no way to pay players. and those who say they should offer fantasy land ides without knowing all the extra legal pitfalls it creates as "employees" of the university.

you can increase the player stipends, but then you have to do it for all your athletes in school. And dont bring up this these players in football are more important. they only happen to play a sport more people care about. but that doesnt make them any more special thwn a womens soccer player also going to classes and busting thr butt ar practice.

there are just endless variables here and people think it is so easy just to "pay" them. but what that leads to is an even larger competitive advantage on the field.

This is already being talked about.

And why would they not, they can make there own rules and change things that they think would be best for the game.

The NCAA has no say in "allowing" kids going straight to the pros at all levels. That was a decision that the NFL Player's Association collectively bargained -- the rule stating that a player has to be three years removed from high school in order to qualify for the draft (which Maurice Clarett and Mike Williams challenged as a violation of the federal antitrust laws, and lost).

Delaney's argument is simply that if kids want to get paid, then don't use college football as an avenue to go to the pros. That option has always been available to players coming out of high school.

It's where the "APU" movement runs into their problem. Want to get paid for playing? No one forced you to suit up for a university -- go elsewhere and maybe it works out for you (see Brandon Jennings playing overseas for one year prior to the NBA Draft instead of going to college).

For those ND fans wanting college athletes to be paid you might as well root for Idaho because that is what will happen to ND. ND will never pay and Phil Knight is not walking through that door. The Oregon's of the world will dominate and most college programs will fold or never be able to compete. F Ed OBannon and taking my fav game I hope he gets sued for selling lemons.
