NDBadaBing
First off - and believe it as you will - I completely agree with the request to tone it down. I've been super bad in my reacations to certain posts - the ones that drive me the most crazy the smug, negative, know-it-all leaning ones that rip our own players and coaches and turd on our opponents' players and coaches. Call me crazy, but I think Notre Dame should be above that. But I sincerely apologize for my bad reaction to posts I think go over the top on negativity and hate. Having said all that, what is troubling to me is that some posters here completely look down on the posters who -while understanding we have not yet completed the journey - are enjoying the ride and are confident it will soon all come together. And when we express those feelings - or the feelings we are absolutely stoked that despite our obvious issues we are 15-2 over the last 17 games and played in the NC game last year - we get called cheerleaders or worse. Furthermore, it's beyond annoying to us that the so-called "realists" who feel the need to rain on our parade can't comprehend just how remarkable BK is to this program. And if you can't understand how good BK is, ask yourself this simple question: How did we go 15-2 with a team you were so down on? Anyway, I'm not trying to start a fight. Im urging some of you guys to chill out and enjoy this time.

echo88
I also love that the tallied wins start with the beginning of the undefeated season. Those are the only ones that count right? Seriously. Tool shed post of the century. You just managed to tie your own agenda to the coat tails of an announcement aimed at curbing personal attacks on one another--not a difference of opinion. No one cares what your take is.

He doesn't need to include the record from 3 years ago to make the point. Another interesting stat I recently read was that the top three teams in the nation who have won the most games in their previous 25 are Alabama, Oregon, Notre Dame. That's a big deal. By the way, to anyone who does think Kelly is an idiot, what would you prefer? Who realistically thinks that given our university's academics, religious-affiliation, location, and schedule that anyone else out there can do better? There's not a coach in America who does better, all things considered. Edited September 25, 2013 by Phillydomer

Morgandonor
It is what it is...that is why it's a forum. You should be able to speak your mind an discuss it. As long as you aren't belittling other poster. The objective of a forum is to be opinionated. Whether it be positive or negative. Not to control your thoughts. Of course following the rules on explicits, which I have a hard time doing on game day. But I don't spell the words in their entirety. LMAO... FaithInIrish Forever
Our mods are the best in the business. This site has the best free flow of information out there. My opinion is that personal attacks create drama, drama eventually causes people to stop posting. We lose posters we lose information. Information,, knowledge, The passion for ND Football and kinship seem to be what we are here for. There are my 2 cents, Brian
marcwithglasses
a "realist" huh? some of the "realists" I see however include some over optimistic and over confident know it alls... those few outspoken "realists" that still wear a kool-aid mustach from last years success and can't believe how anyone dare question BK since he got to a BCS title game... the outspoken defenders that are so invested in and want to believe that last year wasn't a fluke that they'll avoid seeing anything that suggests otherwise. question your expectations if you do not get frustrated - why is it such a bad thing to complain? tyrone wilingham wrote a book called "return to glory" for the "realist" charlie weis wrote ya "no excuses" maybe you invested everything in - because of last year (pre-Alabama embarrassment) but accountability remains even after 1 "dream season" of success and more pressure and expectations to maintain it. when the on the field product looks uninspired and inferior at times, why is it bad to call it how it is? I've been on the fence about BK off and on, because of the fact that for every game that the team is impressive, there are 2 as equally disappointing. there's no denying what BK has done and what he hasn't done it's just a matter of opinion on how each and every game plays out. The question should be ... do we want to have an inclusive and respectful forum. Being inclusive doesn't mean you have to agree. Benefits of a inclusive and respectful board... we enjoy the random chime of peeps who seem to know recruits, or be familiar with them. We've even had parents of recruits chime in every now and then. Those parents outright said they liked the respectful and supportive nature of the forum. Calling people trolls or liars doesn't really invite people to post. Also, while this board can be viewed publicly, it is still subject to board rules / administration, which means you do not have full 1st amendment rights... if the board / mods don't like what you say, you can be kicked out. So, if you feel you're being censored, or don't like the rules, you do not have to play in this sandbox. Lastly, I'd like to thank the mods. I think they're excellent, but sometimes too accommodating to the toxic poster. It's just football people.
Rattlesnake
I just hope we don't turn a spumoni board into vanilla because people don't want their opinions to be questioned.. I enjoy the banter.
