corysold 0
That'd be a whopper. Yahoo has a story of agents talking to boosters etc. number thrown around was $10 million a year. Yowza! That'll be fun to watch. Edit: sorry, I missed auto correct changing Saban to Savant in the title. Texas wishes. 10mil is a lot of money though but is it worth loosing the title THE KING OF COLLEGE FOOTBALL. He has too much to give leaving Alabama they will match it if true. AlabamaDuck 0
Yes please! If we know anything about Saban, it is that he can be bought! You might want to expand on that statement. I have never heard anything that says he can be bought. He left the Spartans for LSU, a football school. And then he tried the NFL which he wasn`t very good at and then to Alabama. He makes a lot of money and is treated very well. Ten million isn`t going to get him.
Shamrocker 0
Well of course he's going to shoot it down. Saban hates these types of distractions. Texas is probably the only school in the country that can out spend Alabama. Plus with possible investigation looming against Alabama he might try to jump ship. Texas is without question one of the best jobs in college football and coaching in the big 12 is a lot easier than coaching against the SEC. He'd never lose a game or even be challanged with the schedule they play This will all play out in the offseason
Elkhart 0
Predicting what Saban will do is nigh impossible, even when he announces what he'll do.

Not a public institution so we won't get the heat from clowns who actually think taxpayers are funding football coaches.
REMND 0
The only advantage that I can see other than money is that you can recruit so easily when at Texas. It reduces the chance of infractions like Bama may be looking at presently.

Its not their way of doing things. ND like Michigan has always been a historically cheap school when it comes to paying coaches and assistant coaches. DamshaBua 50
The thought of Saban with a stranglehold on recruiting in Texas, coupled with his pick of five stars outside of the state, makes me shudder. Actually, it makes me want to curl up in a ball and cry.
nd1989 216
I heard a quote from him on ESPN yesterday and it made me laugh. "I'm too damn old to go somewhere else and start over" Nice

"I'm too damn old to go somewhere else and start over"Nice He wouldn't have to start over though. The roster is ok now and he'd bring in like 5-8 5*s his first year. He'd be loaded by year two. I don't know Saban, but being the only coach to win titles at 3 schools (which I assume he would be) has to be at least a little intriguing. edcubby 2
It doesn't make sense for him to move...I know all these guys have egos but 'Bama is a complete juggernaut now. Texas will be fixed quickly but why would Saben leave? Right now in that state Bear is God and seated next to him is St. Nick...why leave? He probably won't, but he had a pretty good thing going at LSU and left for a bigger challenge. These guys are driven by the challenge of doing things no one else has. Shamrocker 0
The guy I see replacing Mack Brown is Will Muschamp. I think Muschamp would run back to Texas. He's familiar with the program and I think he'd do well there. He's done a solid job at Florida. Like Kelly he's had lackluster QB production, but once he gets that QB watch out. Texas and Ohio State are two of the easiest jobs IMO. They have a lot of notoriety, easy instate recruiting and easy schedules. The B10 and B12 are horrible. No excuse for either of those programs not to be a top 10 team every year
