Officer Tim McCarthy
If Fluker is found to have been ineligible, NCAA could go back and strip Alabama of wins, titles, etc: http://sports.yahoo.com/news/ncaaf--ties-between-former-alabama-player-and-agents-documented-by-text-messages-203153323.html Asterisked Champions! BlackIrish42
Again, this is going to keep happening. We are reaching a tipping point...
PursuitAce
Why is this going to keep happening? The only thing I'm shocked about is that it's being reported. PIs and any real reporters can find this out anytime. Why is this the tipping point?
IrishMouse
Again, this is going to keep happening. We are reaching a tipping point... I hope this never happens at ND. This is why I root for ND because its done right and they graduate their players. So in my eyes they don't have to win every game, they win in other ways every day. Go Irish! corysold
You're naive if you think it's not happening here... I keep hearing that, but I don't know. nD would be the holy grail of this sort of story. Reporters make mountains out of molehills every day about ND. I'd like to think if this were happening: 1. More of these 5* kids would be sticking around to reap such benefits. 2. ND would be pulling in some more blue chip recruits. 3. Somebody would have said something. We don't get so much as a rumor about ND.

I never give the benefit of the doubt, but I don't think Im being naive when I say this isn't happening here. At least not right now. Donjuan
You're naive if you think it's not happening here... I think it's a lot less and on a much smaller scale than what's going on at other programs. And I'm simply thinking small stuff, here. Of course, always wondered how Floyd had a late model Cadillac. But as evidenced by Golson, they are held accountable in academia land which is more than I can say about other programs. Seems the ND profs aren't pushovers like at other schools. The tattoo work on our athletes probably cost more money than an old Caddy....

Maybe Greg Bryant?

Just out of curiosity, do you know if receiving tattoos for free would violate NCAA rules? I know Pryor got his ink in exchange for autographed memorabilia and a Big10 ring. What if nothing was expected from our players? If I owned a tattoo shop in South Bend, having Irish players walking around with my work would be like free advertising. It would be no different than someone giving you a free car because you driving it around would be free advertising.
