BlackIrish42
Clearly this team lacks leadership on the field. We have no one to step up and rally the troops. Last year KLM and T'eo were great leaders. You need those in CFB. I don't know if we have anyone who can step up...

NDhoosier
I never liked the leadership excuse, it is a scape-goat, they just didnt execute very well.
NYNDIRISH723
They miss what Teo and KLM brought to the table in terms of leadership but when your secondary gets bare backed like that, you dont have much of a chance.

1qa
I agree with BI42 ... leadership counts for lots in a game of inches. If Manti, Zeke and KLM were keeping the boys focussed, and reminding on subtle adjustments.. that's gold... that's the difference between 10.3 ppg & 40ppg. I did not expect such a drop off in composure. The reason you bring back Carlo, Fox and Stockton is to provide that stability and continuity in getting things done the right way. ErickJD08
I never liked the leadership excuse, it is a scape-goat, they just didnt execute very well. Look at Tebow. Colt McCoy. And many others out there. I knew there was a problem when Bennet Jackson was the sole defensive captain.

IamSpartacus
No offense because I think you are one of the better posters here...but leadership is overrated during the game. If you win, good leadership, lose and there's no leadership. Leadership counts most in the off season and during the week. We didn't lose because the lack of leadership, just my opinion. S.B.IRISH
all the seniors on defense suck anyway unlike last year
NDhoosier
It's a fact. Did you not play football?? yes, but it doesnt have to be just football, competition is competition and I played at a high level for soccer (relatively so at least). Leadership is overrated, as long as the coach is in control, it is all on the players and their execution.
IamSpartacus
And yes I played FB in HS and college.

Are you saying that if we had two Captains from the defense we would have won? Who would have been the second?

Field leaders in any tactical endeavor are the difference between winning and losing. Coaches provide the strategy and training... and true, players execute to that strategy... but not everyone has SEAL team focus and energy, so you look to the field leaders to give them that boost or "gentle" reminder.
