Love it. Great find overall. The design and "God, Country, Notre Dame" is awesome. Heck, I wouldn't mind if the players wore those once a year for real special games. Good stuff.

the anchors are part of the archway over the east entrance to the basillica.

the photoshopper PSd this right onto helmet. professional graphic artists would have done this much better

 

here is what i found in a couple spots about the anchors. but not sure if it is tied into the archway meaning.

 

While the earliest forms of an anchor being used as a symbol harkens all the way back to the early Christians. They would often use the anchor as a hidden symbol for the cross. This was often used to show that they were Christian while escaping persecution from the Greeks.

The anchors are the symbol for the CSC - the holy cross. The priests and brothers are based out of South Bend. Someone PMd me asking if I did that pic, I did not...
