He played the sick grandmother card and got a waiver.

A lot of kids try excuses like that to get a waiver. I've seen players over the years with much better excuses still not get waivers. He and his family hired a high priced lawyer and that did the trick. If you have the financial means like they do you can skirt the rules.

I heard this too. There was some comments about threats to take the whole policy to court, and the NCAA was concerned that in court this policy could be scrapped completely. The NCAA ended up backing down.

Its unfair for the regular kid that comes from a low income or middle class income, they have to get bullied by the NCAA and abide by their rules. The whole system or structure makes no sense to me, there's no consistency with the NCAA when it comes to waivers, punishments etc..

Unfortunately it works in the court of law all too often as well. The better off you are and can hire competent/good attorneys then the better your chance are. It pays to be rich.

We all need to stop crying about it, and find better D lineman that can compete for next years class. The kid obviously was confused from the beginning and didn't love ND, now lets find some kids that do.

Its hard to find better DL. 1. He was a 5 star 2. A lot of DL cant qualify at ND Finding a better DL will be difficult
