Kelly said in his presser that he could have come back in today, but they didn't want to risk aggravating it. He'll be healthy for the Michigan game.

That is good to hear. We have had a lot of great receivers come through ND but I think this kid is going to be special. I don't know if you all see it but his body control when he goes up for a pass is effortless.

I really like this receiver core. I expected DD and TJ to be good [TJ in my estimation was great today], but was pleasantly surprised by Brown. That 25 yarder he caught on third down in our second half scoring drive was a fantastic catch.

This is all extremely good news if true. To me, this is the most important bit of news I could find. DD is becoming another Michael Floyd with some subtle differences. Of course we could beat Michigan without DeVaris, but it would really hurt us. I too love how this receiving corp is developing. Man we have good coaches. In 2014 can you imagine how good we will be with DeVaris, Brown, Robinson and Fuller with a year under their belts. Jeeeeez!! It may be the best and deepest core in the country.

I believe in a couple games our receiving corp will be great. Davaris is a great athlete, and has awsome body control. Tj jones is very polished and has great hands. Reminds me of Steve Smith of USC a few years ago. He was the best reciever nobody talked about, and the chain mover. Brown looked real solid, just waiting for that seam route or short shallow route, then burn the defense. Very exciting possibilities at WR.

I like Daniels a lot. Great to see him and Tommy hook up for big scores. Also, we get Brent and Holmes coming in next year. 2 more studs for the future. Position is looking great, no doubt.

I liked DD too. one thing that was great, was how DD went up to his highest point to make that TD catch. He was covered and he went up high, even though he didn't need to. Good to see -- he was taught well.

Our front three wideouts, DD, TJ and Brown were huge contributors.

I was really hoping three TEs would get the opportunity to produce more. I am hoping BK was just playing hide the ball with them. They cran play a huge role to make Rees productive.

Bk has said that he needs 6 receivers to run his offense. I assume that means 6 WRs. Robinson, Onwuala and Fuller may need to emerge to get us the rotation BK needs.

I thought the distribution of the ball in the passing game was not very significant. I think we need more distribution, especially if we are going to be a passing team.

Distribution of the ball is overrated. You throw to the open reciever if it happens to be the same guy then so be it. Would it be better had we forced throws into areas that were covered in order to say we distributed the ball better. What you don't want to see is Tommy locking in on the same reciever all the time like he did Floyd. He needs to stay true to his progressions and throw to the open man.

It's overrated for the pro game. It's not overrated for the college games because the kids want to play, or they will transfer. But agree, that's why Floyd and Eifert got tons of receptions last year -- they were open.

BK is stating he needs 6 to play effectively for recruiting. Everyone is doing the math...

Another good feature of Tommy yesterday was ball distribution was better also. Before, he would latch onto 1 player, mainly, ala Floyd or Eifert. Yesterday, he threw to multiple receivers, and that is encouraging. Again, other than a few inaccurate passes, Rees played very well yesterday. That's, also, coming from a huge Golson guy too. Needs to continue especially the absence of turnovers. Edited by OKCIrish99

I thought all of our receivers looked really good . DD looks like a # 1 wr right now...the good thing is we have another # 1 wr on the other side with TJ.....Chris Brown's starting to come around, and I'm really anxious to see Robinson start to catch some balls.....This was the highlight of all units for me.....

Was there any late week update on DD? Are we assuming he's 100%?

they didn't say, but he's definitely ready to go for tomorrow

I'm also glad he finally got a TD last Saturday. I felt bad that he was racking up all these catches, but we just couldn't get him a TD last year
