Morgandonor
Why does espn seem to think the teams we beat last year are going to beat us this year. For example Mark May said tonight that OU would be 1 of our 3 losses. Why does it seem that everyone gets better in the off season but we are not. OU is starting a different QB and so are we ours has game experiences and theirs doesn't. It quite frustrating and pisses me off to no extent. Everyone is getting better but we are not according Mark May. Thank The Lord for fox sports 1. Now I don't have to watch that idiot. Plus he got fat as hell in the off season. NDhoosier
*cough* ND fans on forums think the same thing *cough* "Every team gets better except for us." "Our replacements could never equal the person we lost." "The players that started last year wont get better for us, but that team is returning so-and-so." ND didn't smoke many teams last season. We almost lost to Purdue, Pitt, and BYU. So take that, plus, we lost one of the best LBs in the country, the best TE in the country, some senior OL AND THE QB THAT LED US TO THAT SEASON. Your right, how could anyone think we will be worse??? Really?
Morgandonor
A line backer that took four years to learn how to play in space. We are tight end U..... A quarter back that has won for us and bailed our asses out of the close ones. World class speed all over the place. And the #1 defensive line in the country. Why wouldn't any one think we would be better. Really?

Mark May does a great job of pulling Domer String to get more publicity and viewers. Everytime that he does it his creds go up with Domer Haters. Lets face it, in the competive media world, viewership is king. Drive by analyzing with a lot of inflammatory BS created viewership
OKCIrish99
Why do you care what ESPN thinks of Notre Dame? There may not be a greater prejudice between a brodcasting venue and a sports organization around. F' em!

OKCIrish99
if ND would have beat Alabama in NCG' date=' everyone would be singing a different tune ... even on ESPN.[/quote']Not ESPN. They would have asserted we got lucky or it was bs. ESPN will never give ND proper due and respect. Mainly due to the NBC contract, and frankly our unique way of doing things the right, noncontroversial way. Again, F' em.

I think it is more of single analysts instead of ESPN the company. mark may, robert smith, hebie, corso, everyone else aren't told to always hate on ND. lou works for ESPN and he always sticks up for us. anyway. this is such an old topic on this board I shouldn't even be commenting. I'm just bored watching this MSU game. we should create some sticky at the top of the board called ESPN BLACK HOLE. you can go in there and vent your frustrations, then have a beer and feel better. The last straw for me was the pregame/season segment they had on us before the 2010 season opener v. Purdue. It was terrible and nearly sacrilegious with negative Touchdown Jesus references. They never state or respect our tradition and history. Now, anything USC or SEC, they laud no matter the lack of ethics and integrity involved. All ESPN cares about is ESPN. No doubt in my mind, they hate Notre Dame football. On the opposite end of the spectrum, they love the Dallas Cowboys, even they haven't done squat in nearly 20 years. They pick and choose and are biased as hell.

Why wouldn't any one think we would be better. Really? Rees has never led the team to 10 wins. EG did. If you don't see a huge downgrade, your dumb. Sorry. EG is a playmaker and Rees is not even close. Are you really down playing Teo's impact last season.... really... really? Dude was a hiesman candidate. We have had many talented TEs in the last 10 years. Does ND have the number one TE in the country? They don't. And again, our replacement for Eifert is a downgrade. Eifert was a stud last season. C'mon guy. No one has seen us play and we don't have any returning proven game changers. We have some solid players coming back that have potential to be game changers and some great lineman but that's it right now. If EG was at QB, completely different conversation. Right now, this is a 8/9 win team. If I see Rees actually be able to throw it over the top, this is a 9/10 win team. If Amir is as good as advertised and healthy, different story. You talk about guys getting better from the off season and I can name you many players that really don't get better. To assume guys get better is silly. I would like to hope guys get better but it is not a given.

One question keeps coming up that we have not had a positive answer to. Can Rees and the receivers find a way to have a long ball component to their offensive arsenal. That may be the biggest question we hope to see a positive answer to tomorrow.
Morgandonor
It's just frustrating. Didn't mean to ruffle feathers. I am just seriously at my whits end with this Crap. I know winning cures everything but to disrespect us the way they are just because of one bad game is crazy. If it were any other team like Oregon they would make excuses for them. Watch, if we do happen to blow temple out they will air 2 second segments of the game. It will go something like this. "It's temple they really haven't played anyone yet. Wait till they play blah blah blah"...Miami, OSU play these busters and they will praise their win over crap teams.
