Irish Chris 79
The most inept team I've seen the Trojans field since the 90s. The right side of their offensives line is a freaking trainwreck. Tuitt and Jaylon should each have 2 sacks. Their backs are above average, but running behind that line is going to be tough. let's not lose sight of the fact that their base D Is a nickel package! This is partly to get cravens on the field because he's awesome, but its also because their front is horribly thin. kennard is a beast, no doubt about it, but they are so weak up the middle. We are going to gouge them between the tackles worse than we did last year. Get pressure on whichever sorry QB is playing for them and we should win this game going away. Man I wish we played them next week!

Man I wish we played them next week! If Hawaii doesn't throw 5 picks, take 8 sacks and a half a dozen solid knockdowns on their QB, and catch a deep ball or two, USC would have gotten trashed. Hooooooooooooooooly Sh*t. That game was UGLY.
BI5224 0
It looks like they don't have penalties under control either committing 9 in last night's game. I wish I could've stayed up to watch it. I won't dvr them; they're not worthy of the space.

golson5 221
I watched the entire SC game last nite and was shocked with how bad their QB play is. Wow, they were awful! I couldn't believe it. Kessler should not get another snap this season, he is a joke. Happy feet, no pocket presence, jittery, stayed on 1st read. I expect Wittek to get the job They did have their top 2 rb's out injured, plus a DL and CB. But man that was ugly
mcdougal93 0
Chris is right on about the nickel package. They start 2 down lineman on D...and I said this last night on another thread-Kevin Graf, their RT reminds me of Sam young

mcdougal93 0
Yeah but their D is still awfully talented. It is but I don't think Hawaiis offense offered any kind of test. They played to their strength, their defensive backfield. When they see a balanced attack that offers some type of running game, they will be in deep shyte

When they see a balanced attack that offers some type of running game, they will be in deep shyte Perhaps, I am just saying they still pose a significant threat due to the talent level of their first-team D. Secondly, Redd is a FAR better back then the ex-linebacker they had in last night.
corysold 0
Weren't we all laughing last year when they went to the wire vs Syracuse to open the year last season? Yet, there we were in a dogfight to end the year. USC lacks a lot, but they are still capable of being a good team. I'd wait a few more weeks before we write their epitaph. hawaiiirish 62
One thing to keep in mind is that this is the WORSE Hawaii team in years--we have NO RBs they had to try a frosh running behind a sketchy line --it WAS NOT about USC defense--most defenses will stop the Hawaiis run game--- Poor coach chow inherited a basket case of a roster---did a little recruiting but got hammered with injuries----we are going to struggle to win three games this season against a weak schedule--- I expected USC to score 65 points--- Did they even beat the vegas line or was there a vegas line ? Not a good opener for the Trojans considering that Hawaii in 2013 is one of THE WEAKEST D1 teams. aloha's

His arm didn't look that great. How did Wittek look? Didn't catch the 2nd half. Saw his numbers looked average.
NDBadaBing 0
It's hard to imagine their quarterback situation improving as much as it needs to improve based on what we saw last night. It was downright horrible. Their best plan might just be running the crap out of it but I can't imagine Lane making that adjustment. It just isn't in him. But of they don't get better play from the QB, it's gonna be a long season. Although, as many of my USC friends say, "we'll take that trade off it it means getting rid of Kiffin. hawaiiirish 62
Hey coltssb---your right--june jones had a real sweet thing going on--he had two QBs setting records---he was beating some decent teams--he had that undefeated season- Bowl bids--he got freakin Hawaii to the BCS----he knew how to recruit speed and grab some troubled players like DEVON BESS & COLT BRENNAN to add talent in a place where its hard--he got some good defensive kids from the local programs that are quite good---he even had JERRY GLANVILLE coaching the defense--and they were very nasty-- Coach Kelly needed a miracle comeback at cincy to squeeze out a last second win against a Hawaii team that dominated that game. But then june left despite attempts to keep him---he is doing pretty well at SMU but not as flashy as he did here, the run and shoot was fun, we brought in its inventor mouse davis to spice it up---several really FUN & SUCCESSFUL YEARS FOR HAWAII FOOTBALL---- His successor---was weak and the program digressed rapidly---what we have now is near CATOSTROPHIC--we are just lucky we got in a conference when we did----- The school has poor facllities and NO BUDGET---living in paradise its its big draw--- There is some hope that CHOW can turn things back in a couple of more years but that's an open question. Hawaii has had some good runs in football--we even played the IRISH well back in the 80s---but we have had some LOW RUNS as well--before june jones we lost like 30 straight---but we have a weak schedule--a lot of good local players if they can be persuaded to stay home---and we are appealing for some junior college kids for obvious reasons. We handle things calmly out here, afterall this isn't the IRISH ----damn we had a LOCAL TELETHON LAST WEEK TO RAISE MONEY FOR THE TRAINING TABLE__ maybe in a few years we can be respectable again aloha's
Irish Chris 79
Yeah but their D is still awfully talented. I would have to disagree BI. There are some awfully talented kids on D, but they do not have a talented D right now. I know the potential is there of course as some have mentioned, but this thread is about playing them next week. We would clobber them, and I say this before even seeing our game tomorrow. I may change my tune come 4pm PST, but that is my God-given right!
