SpeedsterX 751 Posted August 29, 2013 Share Posted August 29, 2013 I realize the kid is good but there's 1 of 3 reasons he's starting,,, 1) We don't have anyone else near as good as him at the spot so we are weak at that spot and he normally would not be starting if we had real depth there. 2) He is just good enough to beat out a decent player at that spot and will play decent as a average player at the D1 level at his position. 3) He's a once in a generation player that will be a game changer from his very first snap in a college game. When freshmen at any position other than skill positions start, it is worrisome to me. I am hoping it's number 3 but I'll assume number 2 until I see it with my own eyes. Even if he doesn't get one, I just want them to give him the opportunity. Because Spond didn't blitz at all last year. I hope we don't "waste" Jaylons ability at the dog position. I want this kid to get after the qb I don't think they will, which is why I'm happy to take this bet...I would hope that they would give him as much experience as possible dropping into coverage for this game instead of having him rush the passer...but that's just my opinion.
