WeaverIrish
Do a majority of you guys really think that Amir is injury prone? I''d like to hear your reasons why you think that. I think he has just been unlucky. Also he did play his freshman year at USC. So he obviously has skill as a player. I believe this year he will prove the people like me right, and the people that believe he's injury prone wrong.

Hopefully he hasn't lost the edge and stay healthy.
WeaverIrish
Floyd was injury prone - collar bone and ankle. Stuff happens. But I've seen certain people I can't remember who say that Amir won't see field due to being injury prone.

Kyle Rudolph was even more injury prone. The thing with Amir, if he remains healthy this season, everyone will forget about his being injury prone. echo88
But I've seen certain people I can't remember who say that Amir won't see field due to being injury prone. I was definitely one of those posters. It's because he was injured at USC, then injured at ND, then injured at ND again. No idea if is necessarily a predisposition to getting injured or if it's a matter of luck. Could be the way he makes cuts or he just heals improperly.... Pregame
I don't know how you could argue a guy who has been injured 3x already in his college career is not injury prone. If my memory serves, all of his injuries are to a different part of his body, so I'm not writing him off but he's spent a lot of time in the training room. USC: Left knee. Right ankle. ND: Left ankle. Collarbone.

Everyone seems to agree that he has electric talent that can score anytime he touches the ball. Coaches want him on the field. Despite that, they have been unable to get him on the field except for a little bit as a freshman. Injured his freshman year during the season. I think he was injured again before the 2012 season. Then again in spring training for the 2013 season. Basically he has had 3 substantial injuries within a 2 year period. I think they have all been different. He is a slight guy. It is just not a good history of durability for someone we would like to carry the ball alot.
SDIrishFan
I don't know how you can argue that he isn't injury prone at this point? Could it be just bad luck? Sure. But, he battled injuries the whole time he was at USC, got hurt his first spring here and resulted in over a year of recovery and rehab to his ankle/nerves and finally broke his collar bone within a week of being "almost healthy". I think we've seen him participate in a grand total of 1 practice that was open to the media in 20 months or so since he's been here. Now, maybe he's past it. The collarbone shouldn't be an issue. The ankle I've got to believe would be a 100% after a year and a half. He's had VERY little contact in that time so he should be fresh. We'll see. ndomer4
If he's really that injury prone then do we really think this guy can take the beating a runningback takes throughout the year? Maybe it'd be better if we try him at slot, he fits Kelly's mold for the slot/hybrid type guy.

I don't agree that he "has electric talent that can score anytime he touches the ball". Due to all his injuries there isn't a large enough sample size. He has a grand total of 19 carries and 7 receptions and 1 TD at another school almost 2 years ago. He hasn't played a down for ND and has missed most of the 2 spring practices since he has been at ND. Due to past injuries we have no idea if he will contribute anything to ND football. OklahomaIrish
I will certainly worry about him. He is not a big feller. But those injuries are common injuries and hopefully he has learned from them. Not expecting Rocket Ishmail but a playmaker nonetheless. He and CJ Prosise could be elite, but what we really have here is a big question mark.
